Oh the humiliation …. I know I’m a girl & as such supposedly not entitled to an opinion on football but …..

After last nights humiliating exit from the Euro’s I got to thinking about events of the last week.

Politicians & footballers aren’t to dissimilar really are they? They both get huge salaries for poor performance & perhaps thats where it all goes wrong?

Should their salaries become performance related … no wins no huge salary? They dont give a monkeys they get paid results or not.

Last night was a national disgrace ….. where is the passion that top notch footie used to command? Cast your mind back to yester year the likes of Best , Robson. Charlton, Moore etc … they had real passion for the game & real talent with a ball.

Hodgson resigned – well that was always going to happen but sadly he didn’t go out on a high – he will be forever the manager that went out to Iceland. He wasn’t out there kicking the bloody ball was he ?

Anyway here’s a thought ….. where are those players that had fire in their belly for the game ?
Most premier teams have a high percentages of overseas players hence why we as a country are shafted in major competitions.

Perhaps it’s time not for a huge shake up not only in politics but also in English top level footie?

I favour Gareth Southgate as the new manager he’s done well at club & U21 level …. your choice for new manager ? :good:

Hodgson was clueless. Always thought that ever since he became manager.

Probably a good thing that England lost to Iceland. The inevitable defeat to the French would have been even more humiliating.

I’d like to see Shearer given a shot as manager. They need a wildcard.
