In Essex they are opening up a night club aimed at the 14 – 17 year olds.
What do we thing about that ?
I’ll be honest and say im against it.
They done this not far from me about 10 years ago and there were Boys n Girls as young as 11 years old going to this place. I know that as fact because they done a doc on TV about it and the people the featured i knew.
They was also a no alcohol policy there but the kids just took drugs before they went in.
I just think at 14 the kids should be doing something else apart from clubbing and shagging in a night club until midnight.
Now this new nightclub is going to be in Basildon. Now if any one knows Basildon they will know it has a lot of drink and drug problems and to then encourage the kids of the town to go clubbing at 14 years old is irresponsible.
To me it just seems a case of while they are in there they are out of the way, What we cant see cant harm !

I think it’s a good idea actually, it keeps kids of the street and out of trouble or at least it should do for the majority, but there will always be a few that will abuse the priviledge.
Kids are going to take drugs get drunk no matter if they went to this club or not, It’s not the club doing this its lack of parental responsibility etc… personally I think it’s better them be in the club than over the park mugging an old lady.

They are affectionly called “Nappy nights” in the town I live in.
So say, alcohol free etc etc , but as expected the kids get their alcopops from somewhere. In the main the “kids” have a good time & these nights are trouble free. There are however the bad apples in the barrel that kick off & spoil it. I am not entirely sure it is a good idea but, when I was that age we had things called youth clubs which had regular disco’s & occasional trips to concerts to the the bands of the era.

Sadly like many things when I were a lass the youth clubs etc no longer exsist & the kids these days have got nowhere to go to hang out. They wander aimlessly around the town, streets etc at all hours doing god knows what. During the summer the police were doing randon sweeps of the local parks where the kids were known to hang out swiggin special brew, popping E’s & worse.

Like it or not it’s a sign of the times. We can only do our best for our kids & the element of trust has to be exercised. My kids have yet to reach that “lovely” age & when they do I only hope that I have done all I can to help them wise up to do the right thing. 8-[
I don’t really agree with it but I would rather they were at the local nappy night than wandering the streets.

What happened to school disco’s or the youthy ffs. They have had them here in Sunderland and Newcastle for ages and quite frankly I think that they are wrong. As I say, disco’s are nothing new for this age group but why do they have to have them in Nightclubs, plenty of time for that I say. I was a tearaway in my youth and I for one would have been to those nightclubs (has they existed then) and I for one would have made sure alcohol featured somewhere.

    Oh I sound old

I think it’s a good idea to give children a place to go, however it all depends on how they are run and what kind of crowd they attract. My brother is a policeman – he says he gets more trouble at underage nightclubs than the regular ones.

    Food for though.
