18 December, 2007 at 12:29 am #42981did i hear somone say… who are the real people?
ok.. you did’nt.. but if you did, they are a band regarded by the best bands (oasis, ocs, weller.. ect ect) to be the best band in britian, yet nobody has heard of them? maybe the most unlucky band in britian, they missed out on the brit bop..there recorded label shunted them, yet oasis have been influenced by this band more then any other
i should’nt laugh, i should’nt cry
all i need is all that you can give me18 December, 2007 at 12:40 am #42982ya know,,all my life i preferred the support bands Matt..its a matter of listening.
i saw babyshambles this year with “the view “supporting them.found i have more in common with folks on a breakthrough.as they try hard. saw the “holloways” last week with the pogues.ok i WISH it was karl barat and “pretty little things” that supported them on the English leg of the tour.
many a night i have went home ranting about the greatness of the suppprt band! but then im biased as “support” bands i saw for £2 are now the big acts !
look out for the “hazey janes” “the view” and the “law” all from here in Desperate Dan city …
18 December, 2007 at 12:50 am #42983i’ve seen some great support bands, none of which made it.. apart from coldplay and toploader, who i found both to be boring to be honest, I said to my mate, they won’t make it :) 2 years on, coldplay were the biggest band in the world for a short while
i’ve also seen the view at manchester also, good band, don’t think they managed to have a hit though, which you always need to get started as any band
18 December, 2007 at 1:07 am #42984checked them out,,im sure i have heard of them !
i always forget matt that yer the same age as my son eeeeeekkk ! im going back to the days i saw johnny and the self abusers (simple minds) and a wee band called the buzzcocks..the totsy support of the clash and the pistols. x ray spex/the slits.and the nipple erectors! with the modettes! the raincoats /the fall/siouxsie and the banshees at the roundhouse..ya get my drift ! yeah of course ya do yer a fellow music lover.!
sheest i saw the gang of four with the pschaedeluc furs..argued with wasted youth supporting wire.and XTC,,
lusted over Kirk Brandon with theatre of Hate supporting Nick Cave and the birthday Party..and positively shagged Garth bayer seger of Rip Rig and Panic.
do i care im 47 ?? no fecking way!! I wouldnt change it for the world !
