Oh and here’s a thought. Apparently it is reported that the final attracted some 8 MILLION telephoned in votes. They were offering a ‘contract worth £1 Million’ to the winner.
If each call generated only 25 pence profit for the show’s organisers – I reckon that they have made a stonking great profit on this element alone, before you take into account the profit on the sales of dear little Leon’s out of tune wailing on the Christmas CD.
Also remember that the organisers were taking a similar profit from all the telephone voting in the earlier stages of the competition – so they have been positively raking it in.
I draw a lot of comfort from the fact that huge numbers of Scots voted for (and paid loads of money for) Leon ….. thereby contributing something to the English economy for a change.
It’s always good to see the Scots pissing their money down the drain on yet another lost cause.
17 December, 2007 at 10:59 am #283462With living on this side of the water I never got to see any of the X Factor. I did happen to watch the video that Pats posted of this Rydian geezer.
FREAKY!!!
17 December, 2007 at 1:27 pm #283463Fact is that young Leon was better on the night than the Billy Idol lookalike Ryhdian.
A lot of people would have been watching the show for the 1st time on Saturday, and they would have voted based solely on Saturday Night.
I think Ryhdian’s voice would get on your ti/ts if you listened to it a lot. Leon’s voice is limited, but he’ll make a few million, and good luck to him.
17 December, 2007 at 1:32 pm #283464The welsh geezer will make his money where he should, Leon only won by 1% it was close knit! Good luck to them both i say! 8)
17 December, 2007 at 2:22 pm #283465Give it only 6 months – and we can put up a post entitled “Leon Who???” (Maybe he’ll replace Pete Townshend as a pop wannabe).
Rhidian Roberts will have released hit records / CD’s by then.
18 December, 2007 at 7:43 pm #283466The number of people to complain to media watchdog Ofcom they were unable to vote by phone for Rhydian Roberts in The X Factor has risen above 1,500 hmmm :-k
18 December, 2007 at 8:35 pm #283467The difference in votes was today declared as 10%! one woman said between her and 6 others they tried to vote 50 times unsuccessfully. She tried once for Leon (why??) and got through straight away.
