It’s been years since they told her about it
The darkness her body possessed
And the scars are still there in the mirror
Everyday that she gets herself dressed
Though the pain is miles and miles behind her
And the fear is now a docile beast
If you ask her why she is still running
She’ll tell you it makes her completeI run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend:| I run for lifeIt’s a blur since they told me about it
How the darkness had taken its toll
And they cut into my skin and they cut into my body
But they will never get a piece of my soul
And now I’m still learning the lesson
To awake when I hear the call
And if you ask me why I am still running
I’ll tell you I run for us allI run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend:| I run for lifeAnd someday if they tell you about it
If the darkness knocks on your door
Remember her remember me
We will be running as we have before
Running for answers
Running for moreI run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your daughter your wife
for you and me my friend:| I run for lifeI‘m absolutly in love with this song – Every world of it

2 September, 2006 at 8:17 pm #139289Come on baby let’s get out of this town
I got a full tank of gas with the top rolled down
There’s a chill in my bones
I don’t want to be left alone
So baby you can sleep while I drive
I’ll pack my bag and load up my guitar
In my pocket I’ll carry my harp
I got some money I saved
Enough to get underway
And baby you can sleep while I driveWe’ll go thorough Tucson up to Santa Fe
And Barbara in Nashville says we’re welcome to stay
I’ll buy you glasses in Texas a hat from New Orleans
And in the morning you can tell me your dreamsYou know I’ve seen it before
This mist that covers your eyes
You’ve been looking for something
That’s not in your life
My intentions are true
Won’t you take me with you
And baby you can sleep while I driveOh is it other arms you want to
Hold you the stranger
The lover you’re free
Can’t you get that with meCome on baby let’s get out of this town
I got a full tank of gas with the top rolled down
If you won’t take me with you
I’ll go before night is through
And baby you can sleep while I driveMelissa Ethridge
2 September, 2006 at 8:07 pm #238767Hello there! My husband and I didn’t live in the same town until we were married. We had a long-distance relationship for the first 3 years. It was actually very nice. We lived our own lives and took care of our responsibilites while apart. We did see eachother every other weekend though. We also wrote letters and talked on the phone. This was before cell phones and the internet were big. But we made it thru and so will you.
