lol very funny. Ok here is another one, why does my partner watch me out the window wheeling the bin down the path, in the pouring rain and ask me innocently when I get back, hair dripping wet, shirt soaked clinging to my body, “did you take the bin out darling”?
Don’t analyse this one too much…she calls you darling so she loves you
just to make sure you havnt slipped into the garden for a crafty pint and a smoke maybe or fell in the fish pond
freedom isint free
i watched the flag pass by 1 day
it fluttered in the breeze
a young soldier saluted it and then
he stood at ease
i looked at him in uniform
so young so tall so proud
with hair cut square and eyes alert
hed stand out in any crowd
i thought how many men like him
had fallen through the years
how many died on foreign soil
how many mothers tears
how many pilots shot down
how many foxholes were soldiers graves
no freedom isint free
i heard the taps one night
when everything was still
i listened to the bugler play
and felt a sudden chill
i wondered just how many times
the taps had meant amen
when the flag had drapped a coffin of a brother or a friend
i thought of all the children
of the mothers and the wifes
or fathers sons and husbands
with interupted lives
i thought about a graveyard at the
bottom of the sea
of unmarked graves in arlington
no freedom isnt free
for all the people who gave there lifes trying to make peace in which ever war they were fighting in.
It’s the Soldier, not the reporter
who has given us the freedom of the press.
It’s the Soldier, not the poet,
who has given us the freedom of speech.
It’s the Soldier, not the politicians
that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag
They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them… DONT FORGET THEM ALL OUR BRAVE TROOPS .
