“to play Devil’s Advocate, why should the non friction chatters get to decide the atmosphere of the room ?” “Devil’s Advocate’ seems to be a phrase used on here when one wants to be deliberately argumentative and/or confrontational (IMHO, obviously).” It is difficult to disagree with that. However, for me playing Devils Advocate is to argue or debate the opposite viewpoint of your own. So in this context I was making it clear that non frictional, fluffy chatters (like me) should get to set the tone of the room rather than the trolls. Yet the abrasive frictional chatters do have their place in the room and equality must prevail. So for the sake of equality I raised the opposite point. That is playing Devils Advocate for me in the context I used it In a different context, yet relevant, to make my point without using the term Devils advocate, if Just Chat was a pub and had a diverse range of clientele, thus some division, should the non frictional drinkers decide the atmosphere of the pub over the rowdy frictional drinkers, or the Irish decide ahead of the Scottish? or the ManUtd fans decide over the Liverpool fans, or the blacks drinkers decide over the white? or the christians over the jews ? No of course not. So my valid question is, why do the non frictional nice and fluffy chatters get to decide how the room should be? and why do they feel they have the undeniable exclusive rights to decide how the atmosphere of the room shall be? So whatever type of chatter you are, you are welcome and equal as everyone else. Call that Liberalism if you like

I agree with you on many points but fact remains the room is like the Marie Celeste on most occasions & the fluffy nice chatters are either long gone or just don’t bother anymore.

Who said anything about the non frictional fluffy chatters deciding how the room should be?  ALL that use chat should be able to do so without the constant attacking by the same few who seem to think they have the right to dictate who can chat to who.

Interesting description too “fluffy chatters” some one not so long ago used that term.

    Syntax …

Now there was me thinking netty was a she!!! As in the unforgettable Annette Curtain, who was always called netty

The infamous Netty Swackers laid claim to the name Netty long before Ms Curtains arrived.

They shared it for a while that was a tad tricky but Swackers answered to most things in his heyday. lol

I have made my wishes known to my little sister n the event of my death bfore the kids are old enough to deal with it.

It’s such a difficult thing to deal with when a close relative dies & you have to make all the arrangements as well as cope with everything else.

My mum god love her knew she was terminal years ago & my dad refused to discuss arrangements ( he was in total denial of the whole situation). When it happened Me being the elsest had to deal with the arrangements & the “fear” of getting it wrong was a real headache.

Fair play to your mum for discussing it however difficult it is. I hope you don’t have to deal with it for a good while yet.  x

Or have I missed the point?

Yes I’m afraid you have, May I recap briefly, Just Chat offers a diverse variety of chatters, with diversity comes divide, with divide comes friction. Divide can manifest in numerous forms such as gender, race, religion, culture, belief, faith, football. Chat without diversity or divide would be undesirable, nothing. Maybe you can find an alternative room with fewer chatters, 24hr policing, no diversity, everyone with the same opinions, and a small clique bunch of robots all saying the same thing repetitively, treading on eggshells (which was sort of your original complaint) lol lol lol pmsl hi nn x bye Diversity = Divide = Friction

Lol …. you have a contraversial answer for everything … pretty amusing really as you chose NOT to use F3.

I am all for diversity & I thank you , I do know what it means .

Maybe I could find another site but why should I?

I comment only for myself. I use the ignore button everytime I go in for those who’s conversation I dont enjoy.  I chat with most but fact there is a small minority that spoil it.

I don’t appriciate being slagged off bcause I choose not be dragged into somone elses “fight”.

F3 has not seen the 100 plus users it used to for months recently.  It’s like the Marie Celeste & you would know that if you used the room. :-)

Has anyone unhappy with chat forum three tried one of the other two forums?

    With respect UK  ….

Are saying those of us that want to chat without friction have to move rooms ?

Surely the idea is to address the issue of those that chose not to abide by your site rules NOT tell those that want to chat in peace to move rooms.

Or have I missed the point?

Arc ffs get this lot back in their baskets will you, look what you’ve caused with this thread

Oi you … who rattled your box lol

You know I don’ t get drawn into the petty biatch fests & speak to who I choose. If there are people that choose to ignore me because I speak to certain people thats their choice.

I’m not gonna lose sleep over it. However there is absolutely no reason for them to spoil the room for everyone else with their stupid point scoring & getting personal on a daily basis as so often happens.
