Cmon mate, there wasnt a chance the Iranians were gonna to try them, or execute them, or even lay a finger on them. There’s no way they would have risked the condemnation by other country’s by doing anything to do them.
Common sense should tell people that wasnt gonna happen. -

Exactly dude. Was only a bit of “banter” from the Iranians. I for one can see the funny side of it, even if old poo faced Tommy cant.
Thousands of old boys who were POW’S of the Japs during World War 2 could tell you a thing or two about misery and suffering im sure. I dont think this trip to the Tehran Butlins is in the same sphere as that. I bet…[Read more] -

I dont know the story, but were these people actually ever in any real danger? :?
I remember reading the book Bravo Two Zero based on events in the first Iraq War. Those people were tortured, and were in very real danger.
Would Iran really have risked totally isolating themselves by harming these hostages? Wouldent it just have been like a few…[Read more] -

It would take me days to read that thread on the link.
As far as I can see though It wasnt just the BBC that reported it collapsed 20 minutes before it did actually did collapse. CNN also wrongly reported it 45 minutes beforehand. -

Quite a lot of strikers who scored a lot in the Championship in the past few years didnt seem to have any problems finding the net in the Premiership when their teams were promoted. Johnson and Doyle spring to mind.
Also a lot of players who “only did well in Scotland” seemed to do just fine in England or elsewhere. Di Canio, Van Hoojdonk, Larsson…[Read more] -

If we cant beat teams like todays there is no real hope for us. I was more impressed by that 18 year old black kid they had playing for them,…

Been a while since Engayland failed to qualify for a major tournament. USA 94? I think they could struggle to qualify for this one.
I would love to see Scotland making it, but it’s still a tall order. To even be in this position looking down at Italy and France (and Ukraine and Georgia) is a fantastic achievement for such a small country I believe. 8) -

Tommy Haas the World Number 8 or thereabouts has also fallen to the Mighty Young Scot who stormed back from a set down, and an ankle injury to register a magnificent 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 triumph. :D

He is not!
The smarmy English Interviewer asked him how far Scotland were gonna go in The World Cup Final’s last year even though we hadnt qualified.
Clearly it was a question intented to rile the Patriotic Scot. His reply was totally justified. :D -
