Shearer would be a gambit for England right now. An inexperienced manager should never be allowed near an international manager’s job, unless that job is San Marino or Andorra.

I think Hutton needs to keeps this form up for a few years, then people can say he’s the real deal, because before this season he was playing like a Dumpling.
Lee Naylor had a great season last year, but this season he’s been rank rotten, so it’ll be interesting to see if Hutton can continue this form.
England could still be involved in the Celtic Cup.
Even if they arent it certainly seems like the England-Scotland game will return next year, and it’s a game that will get the juices flowing.
Yup. It would certainly be popular, and generate a lot of interest, and cash for the FA’s.
Only problem might be it could be to popular. I doubt if UEFA would allow a Home Nations Tournament to coincide with the European Championships, because no one would watch the European Championships in Britain if the two overlapped.

Even more glaring than Beckham not starting was deciding to throw an inexperienced Goalie into the fray in the last game of Qualifying. They’d have been far better starting with James. Also they started with a lone striker in a home game who was given little or no support.
Worst England performance I’ve ever seen in my life. I thought Croatia were a nippy little side though, and they could have scored a few more. They looked dangerous every counter attack they had.
