We might be horrified at what Israel is doing but we shouldn’t lose sight of what they are fighting – an extremist genocidal organisation, Hizbullah (virtually the Iranian foreign legion) that has an agenda going far beyond righting the wrongs that Israel might have done over the years. Remember what Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said recently about ‘wiping Israel from the map’. This could be the beginning of his plan.
Now they’re talikng about setting up an EU peacekeeping force for the Israel / Hizbullah conflict.
I’m all for peace but an EU force would be seen as ‘enemy’ by Hizbullah and would be forced to side with Israel.
Measles nearly did for me when I was 3. It’s usually complications that make measles serious – in my case pneumonia.
I made a full recoverey but I wanted to add my hay’p’nyworth to emphasise that measles can be a serious, even fatal illness.
As soon as someone comes up with a good idea someone else tries to shoot it down.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Cowboy George has had some very stern words to whisper in the ear of Israel’s prime minister. But to say anything in public would play into the hands of the other party in the dispute, who are not exactly a nice lot!
I think Blair got caught out because in the lead up to the Iraq invasion, UN approval came very close at one stage and an international coalition was being put together. Blair was going round to chivvy support. So when the UN approval failed and several key countries dropped out Blair was left with nowhere to go – he’d nailed his colours to the GWB mast.
Had there been UN approval for the Iraq invasion, making the war ‘legal’, it would have made no difference to the current situation – there would still be the suicide bombings and other attacks etc. Al Qaeda considers itself to be at war with the UN anyway.
It must not be forgotten that President Kennedy took the USA and the rest of the world closer to a nuclear holocaust than any other president, during the Cuban missile crisis of 1962. Yet now he’s remembered as some kind of tragic saint. Another Democrat, Lindon Johnson, took the USA into the Vietnam war. Clinton sent B52’s to bomb Belgrade in former Yugoslavia, killing many civilians. Is Bush that much worse than this lot? If so, why?
Has anyone ever noticed how the Jews all have big noses? Where did that come about? We all know the English have always had big heads, but is this just the evolutionary process?
Palestinian arabs have big noses too. White South African ‘Afrikaners’ have crooked mouths, Nigerians have small ears, Russians always look like they have colds. Americans call us Brits ‘yellowteeth’, the French call us ‘les f**koffs’. There is no end to all this!!!!!
well Israel won’t attack them and no-one else in that region has the capability so sleep easy and don’t worry about it.
I agree they won’t make an unprovoked attack, but if they ordered the British navy to keep out and the Navy disobeyed, I could see Israel, in its current heightened state, taking steps of ‘enforcement’.
I don’t want to see anyone wiped out but if it came to that, I’d rather see Iran wiped out than Israel! I don’t mean the innocent civilians but their regimes and the sponsors of death they control.
I’m not Jewish, nor do I have any Jewish friends, relations or ancestors. As a militant atheist I think Judaism is just as silly a religion as Christianity or Islam. But Jews did not carry out 9/11, Jews did not bomb the London Underground or the Madrid commuter trains.
There is a conflict and in a conflict there are sides. Even if we were naive enough to side with the islamic jihadists, they would still want to kill us.
Sounds like she was to blame, unless you were going too fast.
