Re: ‘teaching them not to breed so much’ – that goes for all societies and cultures including our own – The world needs a population policy as the ‘population explosion’ that was predicted in the 60’s and 70’s but didn’t happen is on the cards again, only a few decades later.

A first step would be to stop people from guilting couples who don’t want children into having them.

    Quote:
In a war or an international dispute there are SIDES. We have to accept that we are on the western side unless we want to be wiped out by a globalised Taliban. If our side has nukes that’s a good thing but if the enemy has them it’s a bad thing.

Why, I am against the West in this instance, they were wrong to attack Iraq, more and more are coming to that conclusion, even the US public support is waning.
“wiped out by a globalised Taliban” these are the sort of ridiculous claims that led to the Iraqi invasion.

If everybody has nukes people will think twice about using them, or are you too young to remember the cold war.
Why do you think the US is against the possibility of Iran getting them, they don’t want equality, they want to be top dogs with the big stick.

In football if our team scores a goal we think its a good thing but we do our best to stop the opposition from getting the ball and scoring against us. It’s the same in international conflict if the situation has gone beyond being negotiable.

But unfortunately our defenders have had too many “own goals”
The situation only went beyond negotiable because of the West’s unnecessary actions.

I am slightly happier about the US being top dogs than the Iranians – get real and forget the 70’s student politiics!!!! We might not like Bush but he’s a better bet than Ahmadinejad when it comes to the world stage.

I don’t like wars, I wish they didn’t happen but when they do the psychology is similar to sport. In fact war is, in a sense, a serious, deadly, and obscene sport . Not so much for the humble American GI’s or Al Qaeda’s suicide bombers – they are just pawns, but for the planners and experts behind them.

How does the beheading of one man stack up against the systematic destruction of a city and the slaughter of the civilian population, by US missiles. (all except the Oil Ministry building of course)

What city? Are we talking about Hiroshima or Nagasaki? Japan doesn’t have any oil reserves. Anyway, it wasn’t missiles, the A-bombs were dropped on parachutes.

It now emerges that Zaqarwi was trying to start a war between the USA and Iran, both enemies of Al Qaeda.

Most categories of driver are condemned by someone or other as the worst drivers – old people, women, young people, truck drivers, taxi drivers, white van man, motorcyclists etc. etc. all come in for some flack.

Actually petrolhead car enthusiasts tend to be the worst drivers. To them spinning the wheels, fast cornering, tailgating and split second overtaking etc. constitute ‘good driving’ while, to them, going slow or being careful is for wimps!

I am a man, I have driven for 34 years and have been an HGV driver. All my observations over that time lead me to believe that women are, in general, better drivers than men. Accident statistics bear this out too, and that is why women can often get lower insurance premiums.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some bad women drivers. If I were to generalise, bad driving by women tends to be through carelessness or confusion, bad driving by men is more likely to be through reckless risk-taking and impatience.

‘Every day should be a holiday’, by the Dandy Warhols. It is just such a happy, laid back song and one people can bop about to if they want to.

…….removing anyone who would be a danger to children in school, ie., peadophiles, sexual offenders etc etc.

Pity she doen’t mention the commonest danger to children in schools……other children. Bullying is assault and it’s high time it was treated as such.
