aww poor Slayer – quality over quantity tho don’t u think
It all depends on the individual, my hubby is 14 yrs older than me, I cudn’t go out with sumone my age as I always found them far too immature, not only that, all the lads I grew up with I classed as mates and didn’t look at them ‘in that way’ and i’m sure they never looked at me that way either, there’s alot to be said for an older guy, stability, maturity, having ‘been there and done that’, doesn’t feel the need to go out all the time etc, it works for sum and not for others, but personally I think the age gap is only a problem if u make it so….
I know what you mean about “not in that way” my family are very very well known around here and all lads between 20-40 i know all to well, so no chance of ever finding Mr Right around here. So i looked an hour away from where i live and found him

It is amusing though when I think of leaving school in 1985, holidays abroad without the parents, drinking (legally), etc etc n the missus was still in primary school

One argument i have is my BEST friends boyfriend expects her to mingle with his mates but he wont with hers. I hardly know him because we have nothing at all in common, my best frind is happy so i am happy for her but he has changed her, she has aged before her time. She isnt allowed to swear or her tells her off, instead he has given her words to use like nuts, crackers, crazy and my fave of all potty! All his frineds are 40+ again i have no problem with this just i would like to know my best friends boyfriend/father of my god daughter.
I dont think these things are just age related some things sound quite controling and my relationship is nothing like that, we mostly have mutual friends, you do find that friends change when in a serious relationship regardless of age, my friend has moved in with someone her own age and I never see her anymore, I think people just get wrapped up it what they are doing day to day, they have someone else to consider not just themselves any more.
Personal experience tell me different, when my friend went out with a lad her age at 17 i never ever saw her infact it was 9 months before she made contact with me and that was because they split. Her boyfriend now is a nice man her treats her right but i find him to be controling she cant do certain things he worries she will leave him for someone her age which happend to another friend of mine who lived with a man twice her age. She was carefree once mad as me and fun to be around, i still love her to bits shes my best friend but he has changed her a lot. But i still dont think bad of age gaps each to their own you cant control who you fall for :D
