Ive got three parrots Di, and there are loads of toxic plants, so will need to check the safe list on another site I use before I part with me hard earned peanuts.

They fly everywhere, to come and find me normally, well…. one tends to waddle cos he’s a bit fat, but they have full use of all the facilities, same as the humans.

    I’d love a parrot
    you are lucky

My instructions that came with sven sharon

    (gets out her reading glasses)

    This bogplant likes much light
place pot in a saucerwith always 0.5cms of water, pref. rainwater (fussy bugga)
    do not apply fertiliser
    keep plant cool during winter
never make the trap shut in an artificial way

Pete … I did try to emulate a fly landing on it
    so hopefully that wasn’t artificial
    Time will tell

Remember he ran the leisure centre, Carol was the receptionist and kept her children in a drawer in her desk? His wife was crazy and had twins, Colin was the caretaker and had boils, then there were the two gays who always fell out with each other, a hyper blond girl who did everything she was asked to, and he had a really grumpy secretary who I think also got pregnant.

It was proper laugh out loud stupid and funny….

    remembering now?

He used to shake his head in a funny way and go “oooooh….. colinnnnnn” and scrunch his face up. Me and Donna at work used to do brilliant impressions of him, and Im doing one now!

Is he an ex JC poster :?

I love all the bikers on a sunday 8) Brummmm Brummmmmm

The town where I live has a view remarkably similar to that one Sian but without as many trees at the top. Instead we have a ruined castle. Its a beautiful place

    Yes I read that Pete
I had to stop the children showing their friends by tapping it with a pen

I caught the fly and held it while it wiggled and then Sven slowly closed its mouth over it
I’m sure it smiled at me

It could give you a nasty bite

I’m too embarassed now to tell you about the photos I took on my step ladder of butterflies on my Budlia tree! waaaaaa

I have a Budlea (spelling??) but we call it Butterfly Bush
I’ve yet to see a butterfly near it unfortunately
Maybe they dont like the estate I live on :?
I was only saying to my mum the other day how rare it is to see butterflies these days
and can you post pictured of the two beetles you mentioned
I was attacked by a large flying beetle thing about two years ago (no it wasn’t John Lennon with wings and a halo)
I discovered it was a May Beetle for obvious reasons
In America they call them June bugs

So our little friend is called Pappy, I like that!

Im not sure whether he is still there or not after this wierd weather today Rose.

Last week we were watching an indoor spider on its web, a big fly got stuck to it (and it was big), so Mr Spider came out for a look from behind his little nook… took one look at the size of the fly, and legged it! Im unsure whether it was the sheer size of the catch, or if he thought he’s come back later when it was a bit more dead, but it made us laugh!

Its the sort of thing that would look great on video.

it had probably gone back to practice with its weights to get its strength up

Ive just gone in kitchen to get buns out (I do other things besides post) and there was a fly buzzing near back door. I rolled up the first thing to hand and whacked it
It was still alive but dazed so i got it between two fingers and carried it to Sven
Sven wasnt quick enough and it escaped so i got it again and held it down while sven closed its mouth
Trouble is sven has about 15 mouths
does this mean i have to find another 14 flies????

    Rose
your photo of the moth was beautiful
It so strange we have so many beautiful creatures here and we never really know about them
    we should start a thread
Roses thread of beautiful british creatures
    Go girl
    I’m waiting in anticipation xxxx
