Exactly why should we ditch the petition? So by saying that you are saying we shouldn’t bother going to Downing Street, and all the people who have been collecting signatures for us would have done it for nothing. I’m sorry but we are not about to ditch the petition. maybe you think its pointless, but that is your choice to think so. We have both worked too hard and we have got too much support to drop the petition now.
23 January, 2008 at 6:19 pm #303859Thank you. I’m not sure what to do. Obviously the Sutcliffe claim has no relevance now, its just the pain-staking time it takes to find other people with similar injuries. I know after all the advice you have given it seems like a stupid question, but where do we go from here?
23 January, 2008 at 4:32 pm #303854when the accident happened six years ago, i was given a cheque for £20,000 and told, we dont have to give you anything because we were not negligent, this is a good faith payment, i was then dumped on my ass out of the NHS, i spoke to solicitors and there was no claim against the nhs, as no one has ever been caught, my only redress is the CICA,
23 January, 2008 at 3:44 pm #303853thanks but he’s tried it six years ago and it doesn’t work, so best to leave it, thank you for your help
23 January, 2008 at 2:25 pm #303849We are not going on one story, and are no longer using Peter Sutcliffe as a basis for our claim, and haven’t done since the press release came out. The website is due to be updated today. Why can you not see the point of what we are trying to do. We are just trying to get our life sorted after having so much bad luck in the past. Just for the record our local paper and the BBC are running the story about it not being true, and yet we are still getting lots of signatures. We have already found several claims of compensation that we may be able to use. We are not sitting on our laurels with this, we are working damn hard to try and get all of this together by the 18th february.
23 January, 2008 at 12:20 pm #303845keep to the subject please or else thats a waste of time me asking for your help
23 January, 2008 at 11:44 am #303843I’m not being rude at all, i dont like it when people accuse us of not actually needing help. have you not read all the way through from post ONE. Everytime someone signed i said thank you very much. Why is every one turning against us. PB told me to look elsewhere for other people who have received compensation and we are. Please for god’s sake get off our back, we have enough on our plate without all this. Play nice children, i don’t need this hassle on top of everything else. put yourself in our shoes, this isnt something lighthearted to us, this could make a difference to us. everything we have we have had to fight for, all we are asking for is a break, a bit of good luck for once. Come on give us a break, we are both tired of having to fight everyone for evrything. :(
23 January, 2008 at 11:04 am #303840What do you think we are doing you pompous ass. Yes I am his fiancee, just leave us alone now. if you’ve got nothing better to talk about then dont talk at all. to be quite honest im bored of reading your rantings that have nothing to do with why we are now doing it. have you nothing better to do. i AM looking into other ways of backing this claim so BACK OFF and do something more productive than shooting us down when we are trying our best. if you can do any better than us with this you help us instead of being against us all the time.
23 January, 2008 at 9:58 am #303838Look this has all got out of hand. I dont know why you think we are not the real victims, did you not see the picture of my fiance at the top of this post. That is not false. If you are so unsure then contact the East Midlands Ambulance Service or the BBC or even google his name Nick Horobin and you will see for yourselves that it is true about his accident. I dont know if i dare show these posts to my fiance because what was said yesterday really upset him, and you people on here who don’t know him are accusing him of lying. If you knew just what hell he’s been through you wouldn’t dream of even saying that he was lying. he was doing his job, he’s not doing this just to keep pushing for a huge sum of money as you seem to think. he wants to get rightful compensation so that he can do his nurses training, how many of you out there have had the job of your life that you would hate to lose, then have it cruelly snatched away from you with no chance of ever returning to it, because thats whats happened to Nick. We appreciate your help, but all this talk about the Ripper is going off the point of why we started this. I dont know why that press release was issued because we haven’t been able to talk to Mr Hegartty because as soon as Nick told them who he was, the woman on the other end of the phone told Nick that his questions were too confusing, when all he asked ws whether Peter Sutcliffe had been injured, and they were very evasive, so what does that say about it. I dont want to keep going down this road, we just want to get on with our campaign. can we just get back to the point of this post.
We are grateful for all the help but instead of keep going on about the Ripper, can we get back to the initial point of this post, to help my fiance get signatures for his petition. Maybe the Ripper got paid, maybe he didn’t, whichever our fight still goes on. Their must be more people in this country who have lost an eye and received compensation. we are looking into that, if anyone wants to help with that instaed of focusing and wasting energy on that, we would be grateful. But please dont insinuate that Nick is faking his injuries because i know that he will be really upset if he reads that.
22 January, 2008 at 11:46 pm #303833Apologies to everyone except PB and Newspeak, the comment was aimed at them and not the rest of the people on here. As for quoting that Rory Hegarty is a nice guy, we only have your word for it. because on your instructions PB we phoned Mr Hegarty’s office and we were told that he was unavailable for comment at that present time, and when my fiance gave his name, his secretary then said that she had been ‘told’ that he was out of the office all day. Is that a coincidence? How can we see what a person is like if he wont even talk to us. You gave us a source to look into and we did and it led to a dead end. if you would take the time to actually research a bit more do you think so many people would jeopardise their careers on one story. Yes it would be ground breaking news, and if thats the case then why have none of the tabloids picked up on the fact that it isnt true….. because it is true. We have spoken to people at the News of the World and they have told us to ignore these rumours that were started by God knows who, and that they would NOT be printing the press release. Just out of interest where is this press release supposed to be released and why now all of a sudden?
We are not basing our case solely on the Yorkshire Ripper story, we are not so naive as to think that that would hold weight for us. We are in the process of doing a lot more research, but you have jumped on the bandwagon of the rumour mill and formed your own opinion of that based on what you have read. Who really truly knows what the truth about it is. We could go around in circles keep saying you said this, you said that. It’s like being back at school, well i’m sorry if our opinions aren’t in the same vein as yours but we have to keep going with this and we are NOT backing down!!!!
