I watched a programme a few nights ago, it was on during the night, I can’t remember what the programme was called but it was about Cannabis and it’s effects.
There were lots of tests carried out both on a human guinea pig and animals, they tested many different ways, different receptors in the brain, that kind of thing, some of it went over my head but it was, on the whole really quite interesting. There was a young lad, in his 20’s now I think, who did smoke it, and it did make his condition worse. He though, had been an un-diagnosed with schizophrenia. He was hearing voices in his head before the Cannabis, he still hears the voices, he still has mood swings, dark days. No! the Cannabis clearly didn’t help, but it wasn’t the cause, the cause was already there.
I myself have used this drug for many many years, initially I suppose i’d have to say that yes, it was recreational, in later years though, I have used it to help me relax. When i’m relaxed, the excrutiating pain I often feel is less, or maybe it’s just that I don’t care when iv’e had a ‘joint’
Either way, the overall findings of the researchers on that programme found that Cannabis in itself, does not! lead people onto more stronger, harder drugs. It’s more of a personal thing, and having an addictive personality, Cannabis in itself, was found not guilty.
8 February, 2009 at 9:45 am #390905Jade may well have had a colourful past, it’s a bit like that one of ”he who is without sin cast the first stone” scenario. It makes me a little mad when I see the likes of Jordan critisising her for selling stories of her illness/treatment, accusing her of using her illness to for whatever gain. What’s her excuse then!! Is there anything the people who watch it don’t know! about the lives of Jordan and Peter, maybe she needs to sort out her own back yard before lobbing stones into others
Personally my heart goes out to Jade, whatever she may have done or not done in the past, she doesn’t deserve the heartache she must be going through now, no one does. I wish her the very best. Things aren’t looking too good for her at the moment, but as her grandfather has said, she’s a fighter and she’ll battle on. Good luck Jade x

So I anticipate that you’ll be writing to the Independent Police Complaints Authority to complain about this terrible and disproportionate use of Police resources in dealing with a public indecency offence, when they should have been chasing around after real criminals???
Banks being robbed; homes being burgled; and all they could do was persecute the local phantom urinator. Disgraceful eh?
I’m not gon argue with you PB, it’s my opinion for what it’s worth, thats all.
As for writing to the PCA,,,,,,no, if they didn’t do anything about that other thing, which was so much more important, what hopes are there for them to do anything about this.
No, PB, just stating my opinion, thats what these message boards are for isn’t it?17 January, 2009 at 12:09 pm #388581@forumhostpb wrote:
a) there’s no such offence of “pissing in a public place”
b) if it was your wall he was pissing all over you might possibly be slightly less outraged at the Police doing something about it.
c) Public indecency offences, such as the one you describe, are invariably dealt with by an ‘on the spot’ fixed penalty notice and not by arrest, followed by charges and Court appearances.
d) for the numbers of Police involved in the incident (as you describe it) and for the offender to have been arrested etc etc there must have been another more serious offence committed – probably about which you knew nothing.PB there was no other offence committed except that one
Maybe I wouldn’t be happy if it was my wall he was pissin against, my point was that it didn’t take all those officers that were shown chasing and ultimately arresting him. Surely it could have been dealt with by less!!
That!!!!! was my point

i know someone who killed a woman by drink drivin…. i wont go into details its too gory but he only got 7 yrs BUT served only 3yrs 8months and still doesnt see what he did was wrong……….oh and he lost his license for 10 yrs still drives tho i have told the police about this as i fume over what he has done
Katee, I watched a programme one night, was talking to my son about it. I said that all these police were chasing this young man through the town, he kept being able to hide from them for a while, then the chase was on again. It ended up with around 6 police cars and countless officers……..
His crime?
He had relieved himself (pissed against a wall in an alleyway) Now ok, he shouldn’t have done that, but it was around 2am in the morning and who exactly was he harming, a short sharp word in his shell like surely would have been enough. No, he was apparently charged with some offence of pissin in a public place. It was un-believable!!,,,,,seems to me the police are far more interested in easy targets like this one, after all, the amount of officers that ended up on the scene at his arrest, all have to make reports don’t they, so they’re all then in the station, while the real criminals are left to have an ultimate field day!!!
