the dark shadows almost dance
no sound, no sound
eerie silence decends
it is almost like
nothing is left
no movement
and yet i feel
a slight tremor as
my heart pounds
and for me
breaks the silence
sillohettes dance against my window
and a strange tapping
peering into the darkness
illusions rise
shadowy figures take form
they are close enough now
to touch me
maybe even
drag me with them
as they move alone
into the world outside
but resolutely
i take hold and run
break out
to air
to hope
