Linda, are you not able to see what your Government of the day are actually DOING so you can make your own mind up? Why do you have to listen to the biased OPINIONS of others to form your own OPINIONS?

I really do urge you to refresh your thinking and look yourself at what’s happening in your Government. Form your opinions from FACTS and not opinions of others.

Biden’s Executive Orders are FACTS Linda. They are at the top of your government’s decision tree and not tainted by prejudiced commentators. You either agree with them, or you don’t?

LEVINE?  – hmmmm…are you referring to Mark LEVIN  (celebrated radio DJ) who wrote a Republican oriented book in 2013 about changing your constitution? Yessss….of course you do.

I took the time to read a summary of it actually. He makes some good points (term limits for supreme court justices for example) but it is a very conservative, dare I say right-wing approach to changing government. Why don’t you vote republican next time and see what happens? What disturbs me though Linda is that if this right wing radio bloke is one of your main sources of political information then you show the classic signs of extreme partisanship. We agree that the american media is in dire straits but it’s an individual’s choice as to whether they decide to cut themselves off from sources attempting to report facts instead of opinionating their political religion.

May I suggest you read the summary of the Magna Carta written in 1215 (an original of which is in my local cathedral – put it on your todo list). It’s the  first known document to put into writing the principle that the king and his government was not above the law. It sought to prevent the king from exploiting his power, and placed limits of royal authority by establishing law as a power in itself. Lots of national constitutions have been derived from the Magna Carta, including your own. Kinda topical, don’t you think?

As an example take the 11,000 jobs lost that you keep referring to from the Keystone pipeline in Alaska.

Bottom line.

The 11,000 ‘jobs’ you referred to were all temporary and actually equated to approximately 3,900 jobs over a two-year period.

The number of PERMANANT jobs that were lost in maintaining the pipeline is 35.

Now Linda,a job is still a job but to say outright that 11,000 jobs have been lost isn’t true, is it? The 11,000 jobs is referred to constantly in extreme radical right wing media. Surprise surprise.

Perhaps Linda, you might instead want to think about Biden’s plan to create 10 MILLION jobs in the green energy sector, a plan which some of those Executive orders addresses. Yes Linda, paperwork comes before action. That’s how any government works.

Unless of course, your religion is coal, gas and oil as opposed to solar, wind and hydro.

Environment

The order also:

‘Executive Order on Establishing President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.’ Reestablishes the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Moving forward, the council will advise Biden on policy that affects science, technology and innovation.

‘Memorandum on Restoring Trust in Government Through Scientific Integrity and Evidence-Based Policymaking.’ Charges the director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy with responsibility for ensuring scientific integrity across federal agencies.

Agencies that oversee, direct or fund research are tasked with designating senior agency employees as chief science officers to ensure agency research programs are scientifically and technologically well founded.

‘Paris Climate Agreement.’ Rejoins the Paris climate accord, the landmark international agreement signed in 2015 to limit global warming.

‘Executive Order on Protecting Public Health and the Environment and Restoring Science to Tackle the Climate Crisis.’ Cancels the Keystone XL pipeline and directs agencies to review and reverse more than 100 Trump actions on the environment.

Equity

‘Executive Order On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.” Rescinds the Trump administration’s 1776 Commission, and directs agencies to review their actions to ensure racial equity.

‘Executive Order on Protecting the Federal Workforce.’ Restores collective bargaining power and worker protections for federal workers, and lays the foundation for a $15 minimum wage.

‘Executive Order on Economic Relief Related to the COVID-19 Pandemic.’ Calls for assistance to those who are struggling to buy food, missed out on stimulus checks or are unemployed.

‘Pausing Federal Student Loan Payments.’ Extends the existing pause on student loan payments and interest for Americans with federal student loans until at least September 30.

‘Extend Eviction and Foreclosure Moratoriums.’ Extends the existing nationwide moratorium on evictions and foreclosures until at least March 31.

Covid-19

‘Executive Order on a Sustainable Public Health Supply Chain.’ Accelerates manufacturing and delivery of supplies for vaccination, testing and personal protective equipment.

Update.

CNN – January 29th 2021

President Biden is continuing to chase a bipartisan deal over his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief proposal, but White House officials privately acknowledge the bill will need to be pared down to secure Republican support after GOP lawmakers balked at the price tag.

It’s not clear how much the White House will be willing to lower the price tag and whether that will be enough to secure Republican support. And even as they acknowledge that reality, Biden administration officials and congressional Democrats are increasingly skeptical a bipartisan deal can be reached.

Seems that the republicans don’t want to help you Linda.
