who do you vote for if you hate your country?

There seam to be a lot of people in the news who would like to blow it up.

His mother died in a car crash, after hanging around with a playboy. Get over it.

Question is that is there for him to do?

He can’t just get a normal job.

He can’t backpack around the Europe for six months like most people his age.

With his family the Army was the only choice, but still they’re little freedom for him.

Try remembering what its like to be 21 again, and then think what it would be like to have the press recording your every move.

For most of us embarking on a night out, our mistakes are only remember by our friends, in Harry’s case they are front-page news.

But in this case, I think most of the concerns are coming from the “press pack” and those who make there living from his image. Or do you think they will all follow him to Iraq?

Most of you can’t believe what its like to living in a war zone, knowing that you could be killed at any moment. It will make or break him.

If he doesn’t go he’s a coward and will always be label one not by others but by him self.

Or do you all think it would be better for him to turn into his Dad?

Sweetasbaileez should read some of the stories about his uncles and Father from the 1970’s.

When most of us where living on low wages, bad housing and trying to make ends meet, his Dad was hanging around with a p o r n star.

Its about time the royal family took the same risks has the rest of us and not hide behind there money and position.

If someone wanted him dead, all they would have to do is hang around in some of London’s more exclusive nightclubs and simply shoot him.

Or we can all just wait for him to develop a drug habit and die of an over doses.

So I believe it would be “better” for all concerned if he dies in a roadside bomb attack.

    GM still misses the point,

    Charity’s are all about perspective

What important to you has a person, what do you care about and support?

The marathon was never about “charity”

I think it’s the last thing on peoples mind when they take part.

    Well not much

After finishing my training, got a job with the UNHCR and my first posting was Lebanon in 1990-91

Installing clean water systems, most of which have gone now, but there still a few left.

Move to southern Turkey in March 91 to deal with the Kurds refugee’s problem, dealing with water supplies.

Got move again to Yugoslavia 92 and spend the next 3 years wasting my time trying to keep the water clean and running.

It was not an easy job, all side keep shelling water pipes, pumps and shooting my local staff.

Still take part in a few short overseas projects each year with some trainees and do some UK based training for them, but getting a bit too old to run round getting shot at and trying to save the world.

The average wage for a plumber in the UK is about £35,000 per year.

It’s a bit different to walking 26 miles and only raising a few grand.

And that’s the main different between them; the London marathon is run to support charities in one of the riches countries in the world with a health service and a welfare system.

Its does make me sick, its ok for 10,000 people to be killed each day by silly things like dirty water or something stupid like diarrhoea.

You don’t have to run a marathon to make a different; you can join the bone marrow trust, give blood or carry a doner card.

There worth a lot more and will help more that just “cash”

I am old and “cynical”, seen too much death and I look at the bottom line, the death rates for Leukaemia or any other diseases are low in the UKand people are well care for here.

I believe the money could have been better spent and cost of staging the event for middle class for morons be stop.

But we now live in a country where our biggest health problem is over weight kids, so the event will continue has part of a “health policy”.

I wonder who will be running for “fat kids” next year ……..

There was I guy who worked with me back in 1990 who ran it.

He was 51 years old and his wife had just died of cancer.

He train 4 hours a day, rain or shine 7 days a week for a year.

He finishes in 3 hours 44 mins.

But he was committed to it and knew what he was running for.

Their always-high demand for places in the London marathon and standard where high and you run it.

It’s not a bloody sponsor walk.

Ands its like most things, if your not prepare to work at it and train, just not bovver.

    #262709

He didnt train and walk around in 6 hours moaning about the heat and lack of water like a big “girl”.

    #268272

Then he should have done a sponser pub crawl !!!!!

And he still could have raised money for a charity at the same time.

You people are part of the “pc wishly washy no hopes” who beleave that verything is ok has long its for “charity”

The London marathon is a run not a walk. Its a challagen, not a bloody fun run !!!!

You people make me sick !!!!!

    6 hours , what a joke.

    #268266

    6 HOURS?

What is that 4 miles per hour?

I can walk faster than that.

    What a joke !!!!!!!!!!
