God that’s shocking. I’ve got an NHS dentist and long may it continue! Last procedure was having my wisdom tooth out (whcih reminds me, how’s yours shazza?) but i got in done whilst I still have my materinty cert so it cost me nowt :lol:

Those pictures wouldn’t have made me give up (I gave up over 4 years ago now). The picture that made me give up nwas the one in my mind of my mam lying in intensive care with puemonia and COPD. I vowed that if she pulled through Id give up smoking. She did pull through and on my second attempt I gave up. I don’t believe that giving up cold turkey is the only wat, I used replacement nicotine and it worked for me, eachto their own I think. My friend once had a real go at when I gave up using patches (she went cold turkey). I asked if she’s given birth pain free, she said no, i said each to theri own, what works for one, does not work for the other.

One of the last coherent things my dad said to be before we lost him was ‘are you still off those fags’ I said yeah, but because you’re in here, I’ve been and bought some lozenges and I want the money for them when you get out’ sadly I never did get the money, but I didn’t start smoking again.

Both mu mam and dad had dodgy hearts, my dad chose to give up smoking the second he found out, my mam countiued to smoke and no matter what anyone said or what happened, she would not give up.

Good luck to anyone who wants to give up. On my last weekend of smoking I didn’t empty the ahstray once (normally I was obsessed). I can still see and smell that stinking ashtray now and it makes me want to puke. Whenever i fancied a cig I woould think of that. It worked for me and still does!

On my car key I have a round silver fob with a celtic design on it. Haven’t been able to find my housekeys since we returned from holiday but they have a keyring with my name on it and the meaning of it. I have a lovely keyring I got on holiday, it’s hanging up where my house keys should be, waiting, just waiting to be put with they keys!!

Bought a second hand puter, googled chat rooms and became addicted to just chat!!! Would be on the computer straight from work and stay up far to late!!!

After a good year or so in the chat rooms with some crazy people (some really nice, some not!) blonde/blue went on and on and on about these boards, but I couldn’t be dragged away from rooms, then I did and as they say, the rest is history! I used to still pop into chat every now and then but since it switched to the new thingy i don’t know how it works so don’t bother.

only pop on occasionally and don’t always find something to post on and don’t check all the topics, but I still enjoy popping in.
