The US, UK and France just did.
Russia claimed it would shoot down all missiles and planes that entered Syria, and sink all ships that approached it’s coastline.
Russia has done none of these things, because it can’t.

No it doesn’t and with America bombed into the ice age China would become the number 1 global superpower. Similar to how America achieved that goal after two world wars.
I don’t think Xi Jinping wants to be king of the nuclear wasteland.
Even if he did, if Russia was so vast that it could survive the fallout somehow, as you previously claimed, it would also be scrambling for power in this new world, which puts it in direct conflict with China. Jinping knows this, which is why he would side with the West rather than fight Russia alone over a lifeless wasteland.
You talk about Russia like it is the Iraqi regime, or the Libyan regime, to be taken at will as and when the UK and our allies feel like it. If you poke the Russian ‘bear’ don’t be surprised when it turns round and bites you.
I talk about Russia like it is a technological and cultural backwater with a GDP smaller than Italy.

If you think China will side with the UK and the USA, then you really are naive. It would be in Cihna’s economic interest to let us destroy each other.
China’s economy entirely depends on cheap exports to the US, which cannot continue if everyone in the US is dead.
Not that ecconomic interests are relevent when the future of the human race is at risk.

Actually Russia is developing and now testing next generation ‘nukes’ that can potentially wipe out England in one hit.
Russia hasn’t performed nuclear tests since the collapse of the Soviet Union. They aren’t something you can conduct in secret.
Putin will never “live a cave” as you put it. No more than Trump will, or May will. I also don’t think people appreciate how vast Russia is. There are forests larger than England, in the event of a nucleolar holocaust Russia will still be there long after England, when England is an uninhabitable pile of smouldering radioactive waste.
If Putin wanted to live in a cabin in the middle of a Siberian forrest there are lot easier ways to do that than killing hundreds of millions of people.

Sophisticated Russian missile defense was not utilized.
The missile defenses were activated, Russia itself claims that it shot down 70% of the missiles with it.
If this number is accurate or not is debatable.
Russian stealth fighters have the capability to take out any aircraft.
Russia’s planes are inferior to British planes, the F-35 when completed will have much greater stealth abilities, and the Typhoon can fly circles around any other fighter without very much difficulty at all.
Russia also can’t project it’s airforce very far beyond it’s own borders, it has one very old aircraft carrier and very few refuiling planes for mid-air refuels. Britain has two brand new carriers, and airfields all over the world, such as the one in Cyprus where the attacks on Syria were launched from.
Russia if she so chose, could destroy England in the blink of an eye. We are not talking about primitive Iraq, Libya or Syria (from a military point of view), we are talking about a nuclear superpower that has and is developing weapons, of which a single one could wipe London and much of the south of the map.
Mutually assured destruction guarentees this would not happen. If Russia used nuclear weapons on Britain, then the UK’s Tridents, the US, France, India and China would all launch nuclear weapons at Russia and it would become a nuclear wasteland devoid of all life.
To authorise the use of nuclear weapons is to sign your own death sentance, as well as your country’s and everyone you have ever known or loved.
