Lot of people who aren’t necessarily Swiss have bank accounts in Switzerland. Probably explains a lot of things.
That is something to do with taxes.
Even if you didn’t have a criminal record, you shouldn’t be allowed to own a gun!!!

But the right to own a gun – with all the controls etc – I would support.I don’t own any weapons, and wouldn’t, but only because I would get in deep trouble with the law. If it were legal I would probably own one, and in the right circumstances, I would be prepared to use it.

how ever, guns are only used for one purpose…to shoot…as i said….if no one had guns…….no one would be able to shoot any one!
Cars are only used for one purpose, to drive. If no one had cars then no one would be able to run anyone else over.
Ban assault cars!
Actually…guns are to blame…if no one has guns…no one will shoot any one. Your neighbor won’t threaten you with a gun and you won’t have the chance to shoot them.

Have to disagree….give any person a gun whether back ground checked or not and the likelihood is that one day, they will shoot some thing or some one with it. Statistics and checks have nothing to do with it. Any way….my original question still remains…although you obviously dismissed it in your arrogance for a better question.
If firearm ownership causes shootings, then why isn’t there many shootings in Switzerland?
I agree with you that background checks probably aren’t all that effective. But the reason I want them is that it creates someone to blame if there is a shooting, otherwise there will be much more public unrest.

Dunno drac but one things for sure………..there’s a war coming. Americans will have the gun debate til the end of time. Simple question…..why doesn’t the U.K have as many gun related incidents as America?
Not really related to the article, but a better question is why Switzerland has nearly no gun incidents when nearly 50% of the adult population own firearms?
I think that gun ownership should be legal for any citizen who can pass a background check.
