    I’m not really sure why are acting like I don’t know what bullying is.

    Online bullying is easily ignored. In cases where the abuse is only online, they will lose interest very fast when they don’t get the response that they were expecting.

    It is not even as if there is another solution to online bullying. If you think you have one then I would like to hear it.

    You have no evidence at all that Muslims are deliberately flouting the law in relation to operating heavy plant and dangerous machinery during Ramadan and fasting.

    The question is if it is dangerous or not, not if it is legal.

    As other religions fast and to place it on a par with pedophilia pretty much sums you up on this subject.

    I am not comparing Islam to paedophilia, I just chose paedophilia as an example because it’s something I believed you would find to be wrong.

    The onus is on the employer to ensure this is carried out. If individuals are not adhering to this then they are in breach of the law. The law is quite specific about this issue.

    Again, the law isn’t really important to this discussion. But in order for the employer to carry out a risk assesment, they must first know that an employee is a risk. In the OP, the employer probably would not have known the crane operator because they were not reported.

    Can you explain please Dr Drac, Ph.D. How did you reach the conclusion that Muslims fasting during Ramadan is on a par with pedophiles working in a school?

    The logic in both cases is identical, the person believes themselves to be safe in a situation. Most other people think that it is not safe for them to be in that situation. If you look at the replies to this thread, you will see that a large majority of respondents agree that operating a crane while dehydrated or otherwise impared is not safe.

    Just because it’s the law, doesn’t mean it’s right. People should not be allowed special treatment because of their religion. Although I don’t think what you linked to supports what you were trying to say.

    I will summerise the guide as I read it:
    Q. A few of my employees have asked for time off over Ramadan – are they automatically entitled to this?
    A. No.

    Q. I have been told by one of my employees that he is intending to fast for the whole month, and not eat during the working day. I am worried about his productivity – what can I do?
    A. No special legal protection is provided to people who are fasting.

    Q. My employee is a fork-lift driver – is there anything different I should do?
    A. Employee must pass risk assesment or face any punishment assicated with failing such an assesement.

    Q. One of my employees has asked for different shifts over Ramadan – do I have to say yes?
    A. No

    Q. If I say no to the employee’s requests in connection with Ramadan, will I face a claim of discrimination?
    A. A claim may be made, but it will be rejected if the claim is that discrimination is because of a religion, not any specific action taken by the employee (I.e fasting).

    You can’t just randomly sack people.

    Endangering people’s lives isn’t random.

    What I meant was if this sitauationof not doing their job properly was put to the Muslim I’m sure he would disagree and say he is doing his job properly….they could argue loads fast and carry on their daily lives/jobs as normal for years and years without fasting impacting negatively on their or anyone else’s lives

    I’m sure that a paedophile who works in a primary school would say they are doing their job properly too. They could argue that being attracted to children for years and years doesn’t impact negatively on anone else’s lives.

    But that doesn’t mean they should be doing that job. They are blind to the danger they pose to other people. The same is true of Muslims who fast during ramadan.

    And the next one and the next one right Drac? Until the bully, who is very determined, finally wears the kid down, until they cant take it any more. If it was that simple, then kids wouldn’t get bullied and commit suicide would they? So clearly, just blocking them doesnt work. They find ways…..always.

    It takes a lot longer to create an account than it does to block one.

    blocking on social networking sites would do absuletly nothing within seconds you can create a new profile to carry on the abuse which seems to have been over looked

    Then you block the new account.
