The fact you show so little concern and even disdain, for women (and a man) who had breast tissue removed unnecessarily in botched operations, just ties in with everything else you type on this particular site.
You are acting as if he murdered these people, which is the thing I have a problem with. The patients concented to have surgery, and I assume also approved by the hospitals and surgical teams involved.
He may have exagerated the risks or even lied in some cases, but if the patients blindely believed him without doing their own research on such an important decision, then I do personally find it somewhat hard to find a lot of sympathy for them.
I will try to clarify what I have said, because I know some perople will try to misrepresent me. I am not trying to defend his actions, I am querstioning the legal system, as I see this more as an emotional response rather than a reasoned decision made on existing laws and precidents.
Ian Paterson was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court after he was found guilty of 17 counts of wounding with intent, leaving his victims scarred and disfigured.
Did the patients not sign conracts that consented to the surgery being done?
The judge said: “You deliberately played upon their worst fears, either by inventing or deliberately exaggerating the risk that they would develop cancer, and thereby gained their trust and confidence to consent to the surgical procedures which you carried out upon them.”
And I suppose they couldn’t get a second opinion from another doctor, or researched the risks for themselves uing the internet?
He should not be allowed to practice medicine anympre, but I am still not convicned that anything he did was a crime.
This doesn’t even rule out the possibility that he is just an idiot, and doesn’t know what a lipoma is. I’ve spoken to several doctors that were completely wrong on subjects they were suppose to be specialised.
Maybe there is something I am missing, but I am failing to see what he did that was illegal. as far as I know, he (truthfully) told his patioents that they had lipomas, and that there was a risk that they could become malignant, maybe he exageratedthe risks but I haven’t seen anything to suggest that. He offered to remove them, and the patients accepted. Nothing was done against their will, so what exactly is he being charged with?
Losing someone close to you in a bombing seems highly relevant, and I have no idea why Martin deleted it. He should in all decency explain, at least privately, to drac.
I messaged Matin about it when it happened, but he hasn’t replied, so I don’t think an explanation will be given.
There is a lot of ‘fake news’ being circulated by left wing outlets, some of which is repeated in the original thread. One of these is that muslim taxi drivers were offering free transport for the victims, the image I often see attached to this story is this one:
If you look at the image carefully, you will notice the man is wearing a turban, which is not something muslims are known to do. This man is a sikh, not a muslim. Things like this reveal how uneducated not just the general public is, but also the journalists who a trusted to report on issues such as this.
If your first reaction to seeing a darker skinned man with a beard is ‘he must be a muslim’, then perhaps I am not the racist one after all.
You all reveal your true hypocrisy by reacting to an actual remembrance like this, just because the wrong person made it. Of course I posted it in French, that was the language that we spoke in, and people call me a racist xenophobe, what a joke.
I know that you couldn’t read it, but I called for all victms of terror to be remembered, including those of Manchester.
You are all talking about respect, well Matrin has acted with no respect at all. Last night I posted a memorial here to remember a friend who died, and all victims of terror.
If that isn’t disrespectful then I don’t know what is.
