Its like a this. If we live in a multicultural society, whereby we all get along together and its all wonderfull, then why the need for segregation at alton towers? The WHOLE place is being changed from multicultural, to ONLY the islamic way of life, thats not multicultural.
Dont get me wrong you know my views on immigrants etc, or at least the ones where i live, but i wonder if the problem is with the fact its a muslim celebration thats the real grit of the issue here?
Not quite, i hate xmas, but i have to put up with it.
I can go to this muslim event, but i wont be allowed to do the things i would normally do.

Im not saying people shouldn’t be paid, if folk are prepared to pay, thats fine. I think it shows great blagging ability to encourage folk to part company with their hard earned in such numbers.
The question was/is, who do sportsmen and women play for?
In the eyes of the paid player, its not the fans. We dont go to work (which is what they do, work) to please others, we do it for ourselves first and formost.
If wearing the flag of a country, and playing under a title meant you could earn double your salary, would you mind, of course not.
We get enjoyment at a cinema, but those that work there dont do it for “the british”, or on behalf of “the british”.

Correct. I think its come to the time, when we English have bent over backwards to accomodate foreigners from all over the world, and when they get the chance, they stick 2 fingers up at us.

Africa is rich in natural resources but it is being shaken-down by rich countries who continue to take advantage of Africa’s resources.
EXCELLENT POINT. Shouldn’t geldof be explaining this in a big way? Why is he so comfortable with blair on tv, and not telling the world how to help feed the world?
As for civil wars and dictators, who is selling them weapons? Who is supporting the dictators? The longest civil war in Africa was the Angolan civil war. The UNITA rebels were being armed and financed by the USA for many many years because it suited america’s cold war objectives. We’re also seeing foreign multi-nationals getting involved in conflicts that surround natural resources such as diamonds or oil.

Right, geldof knows this, so why doesnt he speak up big time?There will have to be continuous pressure to achieve full debt cancellation and make the trade system fairer (which is the most important issue). Live 8 didn’t make poverty history but it brought the issue of poverty to the top of the agenda. It’s something that needs to be built on.
