Given that being in a wheelchair or mobility scooter renders a person either invisible or fodder for the patronising brigade D.O.A. it would seem highly unlikely that anyone would actually CHOOSE a mobility scooter over another mode of transport as a matter of preference, unless disabled.

Im sorry but I think is pretty sick that you all make light of what has happened to Cas’s mum. Just think how you would feel if it was your mum eh
Well said Dawny. There’s a time and a place for humour, and a thread about an old lady being badly injured is neither of those. Cas started this thread looking to people that she obviously trusted for support, at a time that has been traumatic for her. Instead she finds nothing but mockery from those who find the source of the pain and trauma a bounty for cheap gags. You should be bloodywell ashamed!
2 January, 2007 at 4:46 pm #254757Hope you get rid of that pneumonia soon Dawny..try slapping some goose grease on your chest!
And a Happy New Year to y’all at JC 8)2 January, 2007 at 4:35 pm #254788Cas, that was a dreadful thing to happen to your poor mum, I’m only too aware of how serious these injuries are..particularly to a woman of your mum’s age. And I don’t find it a matter for levity. So I wish your mother all the very best in getting over the trauma and in having her broken bones healed. I also wish you good luck in tracking down the culprit.
30 December, 2006 at 5:21 pm #254586May I just point out folks, that it is not the done thing to wish anyone New Year greetings until after the bells chime midnight on the 31st of December. After that..fill your boots..although not beyond the first week of the month. Until then.. :-#

As far back as man can remember and record, the festive season we celebrate in december does indeed stem from the pagan celebration of Winter Solstice, which has been hi-jacked by the church and christianity, he is 100% correct here.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically

He is wrong here. The culture of of England is of originally pagan, now prodomanently christian and secular, and those who are of different in culture have helped contribute to disasters in our society, helped by the governments past and present since 1948.
Oh for pity’s sake Emma, will you stop banging on about your newfound interest in Paganism and give us a break. Nut case was giving us all a laugh..thank you Nut Case. I’ve been a paganist since I was knee-high to a toadstool and..until provoked by your witterings..have kept it strictly to me..mine..and such as me and mine. So will you SHUT UP about it! Thank you
23 December, 2006 at 9:38 am #254271Well I assembled a line-up of the usual suspects and I must say..they all looked pretty shifty to me. Little Jack Horner just stood in the corner..his habit of sticking in his thumb..willy-nilly.. could see him as a possible contender. Then there’s Georgie Porgie..he likes to kiss the girls and make ’em cry but does he have any known form with molesting eggs? Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet..which must have made her eyes water..did she blunder over to Humpty’s wall and blindly thrust him from his perch? And then there’s Baa Baa Black Sheep..er..the black sheep of nursery world..was he jealous of Humpty’s party trick of shooting backwards out of a hen’s ar.se? Maybe the real perpetrator can be revealed in this recently discovered version of the rhyme..
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
The daft ovid toss-potter had a great fall
A big hairy spider scuttled slyly away
To scare Muffet girl shiitless
and splatt egg in her whey..There was an old woman who lived in a shoe
she had several asbos..a restraining order too
she had to go thieving to top up her grog
for her favourite tipple was lovely egg-noghmmmm?

22 December, 2006 at 12:39 pm #254175If you’re certain that it was this particular bloke who filled in the crossword..then it would be a nice gesture to tell him..and split the money. At the very least you should offer to buy him a pint and a packet of scampi fries
