I agree with you Lancsman..that was a classic Dad’s Army..it never fails to make me laugh.

I also loved The Goodies..[okay..I fancied Bill Oddie] and of course..Monty Python.

Does anyone remember Follyfoot or The Ace Of Wands? how about Quatermass And The Pit? They don’t make ’em like that anymore :(

Owen..just tried to get Zappa’s City Of Tiny Lights..and the buggers have removed it..blimey..it’s not as if Frankie-boy was ever controversial

Best ever music video..does Shostakovitch’s Lady MacBeth of Mtstensk… featuring Christopher Ventris in the scud… count?

Nine out of ten to Guff and Fats for very nearly being correct. But sorry to disappoint..Esme lives on. And Tommy..I think I last saw your old nag outside the Last Chance Saloon

Tadpole..just cuddle your wee one..and don’t get yourself worked up..although I can understand your anger. You’re blessed to have your lovely family..and that’s all that matters. These boards are insignificant compared to the things that are important to you..and I know you’ll remember that as you gaze down on the wee one peaceflully sleeping. All the best to you and your wee ones.

Galaxy….I agree with the famous quote from Shirley Conran..”Life’s too short to stuff a mushroom.”

It was always the pile of dishes and pans needing washing that put me off cooking..but I became very proficient at anything that could all be made in the one pot..even things that weren’t supposed to be. And my tuna pasta was legendary..I would use pasta shells,,tuna..chopped apple and grated cheese. If I didn’t have apples..I would fling in a tin of pinneapples..so far so good. I took it too far when I used a tin of fruit-cocktail..my husband couldn’t handle the bits of cherry winking up at him next to the tuna. Now I’m not able to do the cooking..it’s come as a blessed relief to all. Fortunately my hubby’s a wonderful cook and when we have pasta..there’s not a cherry in sight

Fasty…I wouldn’t freeze ANYTHING twice..and even with bread..the second freezing won’t kill off the bacteria. Mind you..I’m a bit funny with me bread..won’t eat it if it’s not completely fresh..the birds in our garden get more of my loaf than I do. I don’t think I’ve recovered from a breakfast I got in a B&B a few years back…when I’d eaten my scrambled egg..I discovered the toast underneath was GREEN…worse..my pal had eaten hers. We barfed all the way home on the train.
    :-…

Sunny’s right..get yourself a new loaf. Most bakers like Warburtons and Hovis make wee loaves for one. Or have a go at baking your own Fasty..nothing like the smell of new baked bread :)

From WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND when all the village children come marching to visit ‘Jesus’ [actually an escaped convict] hiding in a barn. So poignant..I’ve seen this film so often I know it off by heart..but I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it..and anyway..I always fancied actor Alan Bates…hence my other favourite scene from a movie..

From FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD…every scene with Alan Bates as Gabriel Oak. This also being an adaptation from a novel by my favourite author Thomas Hardy..it’s a double whammy. :D
