Funny how its always the women that have made life commitments to men that spout off the most about not needing us…. :lol: :wink:
The London marathon, along with the New York marathon, are more interested with the quantity of runners they get rather than the quality, quite simply because they want to be seen as the biggest and most extravagant marathon organisers on the planet.
The other countries and cities of the world who are less obsessed with being the biggest demand that all runners should be able to run a marathon in under 5 hours or they discourage you from entering. In fact, if you do enter and take longer than 5 hours to complete the course your time will not be recognised.
It makes great TV watching all these unfit heroes crossing the line, staggering around and claiming it was all done in aid of charity but none of them should be able to claim they “ran” a marathon when all they did, in the main, was walk the distance.
But of course they should be congratulated. After all…. if you’re not fit it isnt easy walking 26 miles .. 8)

lil feck has actually got a point here. Is it not discriminatory not to allow Pakistanis to type the name of their fatherland in the chatrooms :?: Do you ban them from doing so as a method of discouraging them from joining this very “British” site.. :?:
And on these boards…. if you try and enter the name “pa*ki” it automatically changes it to the word “asian”. Now Im sure that if the subject matter is Pakistan then the rest of asia wouldnt really want to be tarred with the same brush and dragged into a topic that was never directed at them in them in the first place.
Those Indians have already got their finger pressed firmly against the nuclear button and it could only take one automatically edited post on the JC message boards and war could break out between the two countries.
Seems to me that JC is actually encouraging racism rather than discouraging it…. :-k

Without actually taking away the fact that he did it…… CONGRATULATIONS!!!!…… DOA does have a slight point.
Many years ago I took part in the Rotterdam marathon completing it in a time of 4 hours 39 minutes. I ran just over half the marathon without stopping and then it was a combination of jogging and walking……. and as you can imagine… the longer the contest went on the more the walking replaced the running.
So how far did you “run” before your marathon actually turned into a Sunday afternoon stroll.. :?:

Theres nothing wrong at all with being patriotic but if somebody would like to explain to me who this St. George actually was and why we should worship him then I might consider it. As far as I can remember he was supposed to have slayed some dragon…. and we all know dragons never existed. So what else did he do to earn our praises :?:
