Hats off to Gary (a Scottish hero). He gave up his career to spend crucial time with his family and comfort his wife in her last years. Martin O’Neil did the same. Both were at the peak of their earning powers. You don’t get many men like that. Real heroes both and I wish them every success in the future.

ON THE CONTRARY JAMES,EVERY MARRIED MAN ON THE PLANET WOULD DO EXACTLY THE SAME THING,I TOO WISH THEM EVERY SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE.

Just because somebody is famous and stays home to look after his wife doesnt mean he is any more a hero than Mr Joe Average who would do excactly the same. In fact, we would “ALL” do the same in similair circumstances (scottish hero or not). You dont become a “HERO” James for doing something thats expected. [-X You become a hero for achieving the “unexpected”.
    Well said Lancs…. =D> =D> =D> =D>

What I’ll always rememeber about Gary Mc Allister was his penalty miss in Euro 96 at a point in the game when we had England on the run.
Has any1 else got any more Gary McAllister memories?

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah….. the memories.
Irish Pub…Eindhoven….Holland… just as many Jocks in as English. We were on the run… the Jocks were singing there hearts out…. the English were silent. Mcallister misses.Woooooooooooooo.. the English go mad. Still celebrating the Jocks miss, Paul Gasgoine take a beautiful cross on the run and with sum nifty footwork beats the Jocks keeper for one of the “best” goals in National football history. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss… Theres no containing the explosion of pure euphoria (well at the English end anyway :D ). Ive never seen such a rowdy group of Jocks silenced so suddenly and deceisivly. It was heaven.
One of the best days out on the pi*ss Ive ever had.
I even managed to pull a Dutch bird and end the evening with a celebratary shag. :D

A day that will never fade from my memory even if I live to be 200.

    Long live Gary Macallister….
