So TV licences are nothing to do with the government then? And there are no punishments for not buying one? I posted evidence of racial discrimination on BBC job adverts, what more evidence could you want?
Yes, it was a silly answer because your argument seems silly to me. Nobody has said why the design of Golly itself is racist.…[Read more]

Yes, I just worked that one out lol. Sorry, I was a bit slow on that one.
The BBC was mentioned just before Diane Abbot was, and you claimed that only an example of one person was given. But that is a fairly minor point.
There are exactly zero examples in the thread of why Golly is bad. The only thing that comes close is somebody being…[Read more]

How are those characters any different that Golly?
My point was that it isn’t just our culture that has created things that look like that, and that might be relevent to the conversation later.
If you actually want me to answer that, I think that isn’t trolling because it is very specific in an action that should be taken.
Where?

She is allowed to hold office in government, and is not the only one who has views like this. You are also ingoring that the government continues to fund the BBC even though they have racist policies.
I meant ‘you’ as in everyone that is complaining about Golly.
Such as?

Since you don’t like talking about white people for some reason, lets talk about Japan instead.
You see characters in a similar style to Golly there, are they also racist?
From Pokemon:
From Dragon Ball:
These are also designed for children, coincidently.

I don’t think you understand why people troll.
Why do you think that the government being racist is lame? Surely that should be the type of racism you are most offended by. Rather than a doll.
Nobody who has said the doll is controversial has been able to explain why it is controversial. Golly barely even looks like a human, yet alone any…[Read more]

The automation thing generally isn’t covered well in the media, there will always be some jobs that require humans. Which would be the jobs of designing and repairing the robots when they are broken. It is possible to automate these things too, but it quite far outside of our current technology. And it would be very dangerous to completely rely on…[Read more]

I object to the abuse, but I don’t see what talking about it adds to this discussion. That, and it’s what the person who sent the abuse probably wanted to happen.

That was my point, it wasn’t the words that she said that were offensive because her intent was to quote someone else rather than to cause offense.

I’m aware that there are many religions (including Islam) in India, and variants of those religions. But I don’t see how it changes what I said. India is a country, and not all Hindus / Sikhs / ect are Indian.

There are two main divisions in Islam, Sunni and Shia. This split happened very early in Islam after Muhammad died, over who should be his successor. There are some other branches, but I am not very familiar with them. Most Islamic countries are Sunni, with the exceptions of Iran and Iraq from memory, who are Shia.
The sects that I mentioned,…[Read more]

I just googled it, it’s made by the BBC so it can’t be trusted at all. But I might watch it later.
I’m going to guess they didn’t choose any Salafi or Wahabi muslims (The ones that are the problem) as part of ‘different walks of life’.
