So what you are saying is that you have completely uninstalled Yahoo Messenger – re booted – and then reinstalled it (clean). It still lets you into one of your accounts but not the other account – is that right???

You may have a corruption in your Yahoo application files. To sort this uninstal your Yahoo messenger from your PC (Add/Remove programmes in Control Panel). Re start your PC to fully complete the uninstal process.

I seem to remember having this issue myself some time ago.

Lots of devices that work with Win 9X won’t work with WinXP – or at least their functionality is impaired.

Being very personally criticised for not posting a condolence message on here for someone that I hardly knew, when two really close personal friends of mine are currently dying from cancer.

I believe that they bypass the recycle bin and get lost onto the hard drive, and fragmented until they are overwritten by other files and thus irrevocably lost.

I’m guessing you’re running into trouble with XP’s built in firewall. In the Firewall dialog, go to “exceptions” and add Symantec Antivirus to the list. See if that doesn’t fix the problem.

Oh and since it is a part of Norton Anti Virus – you should permit it to access the internet.
