Yup, it was me wot said it
I suspect that i’m simply echoing the view of the majority of fair minded people. Yes there will always be terrible stories (on both sides) where an innocent person is the victim of a rape attack, or where a male is maliciously accused by afemale and so on. Equally the law or the accuser gets it spot on right as well.
I suppose that it’s the ”gang” mentality that wants instant justice regardless of the actual fact in the matter.
Sadly, I really don’t see this situation improving (with anonymity for BOTH parties) as those with an ”agenda” will shout the loudest.
20 October, 2008 at 3:02 pm #381064To add to the above comments on Simon. The thing I find fascinating is watching an expert in his own field working. I am not that good with music. If a singer is really off key I’ll notice it, but the slight nuances that differentiate between a really good performance and a mediocre one … I’ll miss.
Listening to his judgements is amazing in that he seems to be able to pick up on the smallest thing and explains its importance to the singer…… things that frankly I didn’t notice at the time but, when you listen to his critiques, make perfect sense.
For me this is the fascinating part of the show. Yes it’s all showbiz glitz but behind it you can see and feel the professionalism.
20 October, 2008 at 9:16 am #384147Don’t worry about it Yoda …. unfortunately I made the identical mistake when the Forum first opened – and I ought to have known better eh???

i like the rows between louie and simon i thik there so funny simon thinks he is the best judge going i would love someone to tell him to shut up be a right laugh i think louies boy group will win it i still think the show is fixed though iam a newby by the way hello to you all iam off sick at the moment and very bored xxx
I keep on picking up on the implication (from Simon) that Louis is gay and that is why he is into the “boy bands”. Hmmmmmm not too sure about this.
For all his abrasive comments and so on, Simon is an acknowledged expert in his field and is paid a serious lot of money to know what he is talking about. I find that his critiques of the various acts show a remarkable insight into the pop music industry – he tells them what he really thinks instead oof going all mushy and flattering them…… unlike the two female judges.
Without him the show would simply degenerate into a load of “luvvy” flattery and back slapping.
20 October, 2008 at 9:08 am #384145Yoda … think of the “Soap Chat” Forum as an inter site advertisement pointing out to JustChat members that we also own this other site dedicated to – can you believe – soap chat.
If you want to join them (in addition to this site) and post your thoughts & feelings etc about TV soaps, then that is what it’s there for. The idea is that people should post their soapy thoughts on that site and not in the “Soap Chat” Forum.
PS: Enjoy your soap ….. er ….. OK I’ll shut up now.
19 October, 2008 at 10:39 pm #384014I have to say Pinty that you view seems to be that of the majority on here ….. and good for them.
19 October, 2008 at 1:12 pm #381056Sorry …. yes Ruth was her name – I forget their names at present but I’m sure as more and more bite the dust, I’ll remember the remainder.
19 October, 2008 at 12:41 pm #381048Rachel was simply amazing in her second song. I really can’t understand how she got to the last two as she is technically way ahead of most of the others.
The girl band was rightly voted off – they are so 1990’s, very wooden in presentation with over rehearsed and superficial arm gestures during their murdering the song. Reminded me a bit of The Supremes with “Baby Love” and the arm gestures. .

Stop stirring it up Pikey !!!
18 October, 2008 at 8:52 pm #380988It’s terrible isn’t it Dawny. Every contestant, one of the judges just HAS to say that they are singing either inside or outside their “comfort zone”.
To make it worse – two of the singers themselves commented that they were in or out of their “comfort zone”.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
