You’re quite right DOA …. I have just reviewed my prospects and discoverd that I don’t have any. C’est la vie huh?

Oh well I’d better make a few mobile phone calls and ask everybody how they are or what they’re doing or something.

You should strangle the bloody thing and dispose of its body in a bin bag. Damned cats, always were a nuisance and always will be.

Don’t forget to call each other every few minutes to gossip endlessly on about all the things you wish you were doing….. preferably at high volume so that everybody around you HAS to hear the conversation !!!

So the Stock Markets come ”crashing down” – as was said earlier on. Fact is that it is only share prices that are temporarily reduced, reflecting tha fact that more traders are selling than buying right now. The immediate shock will pass and within a short while they will return to their previous level. Life will go on as before.

The only companies that will suffer will be those who are badly managed; those with insufficirent cash resources to weather a temporary downturn; those that have been carrying losses forward month after month, year on year. The remaining 99.9% of the market will come through this pretty much unscathed.

Meanwhile, in the ‘real world’, all those silly women will keep endlessly on blathering about absolutely nothing at all on their bloody mobile phones and irritating the shit out of the rest of us who don’t want to have their stupid and inane conversations foisted on us.

I have to fully agree with you there Pebbles. Every day as I potter around, I see people 9usually ‘young’ women) walking along with a mobile clamped to their ear, or texting somebody about something really really important.

    “U OK?”

    “YUP U?”

    etc etc etc

I am slightly curious about one thing though. It sems to me from my observations that the vast majority of mobile phone users are female. Is that your experience?? …and why???

You make a lot of sense there Stephen. Food for thought eh? (no pun intended)

My own take on the current so-called crisis is to think about mobile phones. Yes … that’s what I said….. mobile phones.

Why do you have one??? Logically it is to make and receive telephone calls to other telephone users right?

So how come most mobile users are seemingly more concerned with all the additional gadgets and functions on their phones – none of which have anything at all to do with their primary purpose???

In so many ways they have become a metaphor for living in today’s world. We seem to have lost sight of any sense of purpose and buy things for all the additional benefits rather that focussing on their fundamentals.

BTW I predict the end of civilisation, as we know it, sometime before Christmas.

Take a look at what Dell has to offer. http://www.pc-order.co.uk/uk/dell-offers/?cat=2&tracker=Brand&gclid=CPXJ0vP03pUCFSjdlAod-UTNXg <— this linky takes you to their September offers or simply go to http://www.dell.com

I terms of value for money they offer a pretty good deal. you can start with their basic configuration and then online you can add or subtract from it with extras as you wish. It is worth looking at their small business section and checking out their “Vostro” range (which are a lot cheaper that the “Inspiron” range.

If you are able to Sharon, you really ought to instal SP3. Basically it rolls up all the updates (security and otherwise) and enhances the functionality of numerous ‘hidden’ features of Windows XP. I have it on three computers and although it works in the background, it has caused me no difficulties whatsoever.

Sooner of later, you will be ‘forced’ to instal it as the Microsoft updates available for up to SP2 will become orogressivly fewer and fewer.
