Very well done both toybulldog and minim.
In fact it is a parody on the explanation of the Second Degree Tracing Board which is part of the Masonic ceremony of Passing – i.e. when a new mason moves up to the second degree and becomes a Fellow Craft.
The original version commences: “When the Temple at Jerusalem was completed by King Solomon, its costliness and splendour became objects of admiration to the surrounding nation, and its fame spread to the remotest parts of the then known world.”
When you compare the real text and the parody, you can see how very cleverly somebody has sent up New Labour.
Minim very cleverly got the 3, 5, and 7 reference as being Masonic.
Again a quote from the real version: “They then passed up the winding staircase consisting of three, five, seven or more steps. Three rule a Lodge; five hold a Lodge; and seven or more make it perfect. The three who rule a Lodge are the Masater and his two Wardens; the five who hold a Lodge are the Master, two Wardens and two Fellow Crafts; the seven who make it perfect are two Entered Apprentices added to the former five.”
Oh well it’s a rainy Sunday – at least that’s my excuse.

The clue is in the title … any other guesses???
6 December, 2009 at 10:32 am #425238Tut Suzie ….. we’re not picking it apart (that’s a woman thing isn’t it?) ….. we’re simply offering an informed analysis of the situation based on the facts put before us.
5 December, 2009 at 11:24 pm #425236Sounds like typical female indecision to me.
Can’t make your mind up ….. so take both of ’em.
Yup – maybe Noah was female after all.
5 December, 2009 at 11:18 pm #425290I wholly agree with you on this Pete.
Arguing with a woman is like trying to fold an airmail copy of The Times in a high wind.
5 December, 2009 at 11:15 pm #409913I’m finding this competition increasing difficult to call. They all seemed to sing pretty well this evening. I have to admit that, although Stacey Solomon – the Dagenham diva – has a nice voice and sings really well, she is the most utter and complete dork when it comes to saying anything. A sort of female Wurzel Gummidge – but from Essex.
My instinct is that Danyl will be voted out tomorrow – the ‘gay’ vote will only carry him so far. God knows who will win the final but if pushed, I’d plump for Joe Mc whatever his name is from Geordieland.
5 December, 2009 at 11:10 pm #425234I suppose that the next thing we’ll hear will be that Noah was female.
5 December, 2009 at 11:08 pm #425341I was once told of a practical joke that could be played on a spinster.
You bang several times on her front door and make “odd sounding” noises ….. then as she approaches to investigate, you poke a big green cucumber through the letter box and shout “Oh My God ….. The Martians have landed!!!!!”
But seriously though …………….

Personally I think the majority of the reports can be explained quite rationally, however there are still a significant number of reports from respected individuals that still can’t be explained. Are these visits from aliens? or from time travellers? who knows?…
This is what I’ve come to adore about the ‘conspiracy theory’ nutters. Something happens and for a while nobody can come up with a ‘rational’ explanation. Enter the conspiracy nutter with the inevitable “little green men from Mars” explanation for the seemingly inexplicable. The more you tell them not to be so silly, the more they become convinced that theirs is the one true explanation and everybody else is “covering up the truth.”
All we need now is for some half pissed yokel to see a flashing light in the night sky and off we go again.
If the “little green men from Mars” want to invade us and take over the country they’re welcome to it. I’m sure they could make a better job of it than the present Government is doing.
5 December, 2009 at 11:24 am #425286Well in spite of the defensive nature of the so-called feminists comments on this thread, it’s interesting to note that so far none of them have accepted that maybe – just maybe – women have more than one fault.
The one fault ‘admitted’ is cast more as an attribute than a flaw.
