I read today that one of the murdered prostitutes had a drug habit that was costing her £500 a day.
I was trying to figure out how many sexual encounters she would need to earn that kind of money and in what time period and from that, figure out her hourly pay rate.
Obviously she would have to eat, sleep, and so on for several hours in 24. Equally she would need time to buy and consume her chemical of choice (crack cocaine I believe). Then of course. being a ‘caring’ mother, she would want to spend quality time with her assortment of illegitimate children.
Taking into account the European Working Time directive, she probably spends only 8 hours a day shagging & blowing etc etc. This means that her hourly rate of pay is probably somewhat less than the average family solicitor.

Seems like another case of useless council workers not carrying out the simple checks they should always do before a new tennant has moved in to the property. :roll:
Yes I had rather hoped that the Official JC Moron would enlighten us all.
Mind you it does raise the question – is it REALLY the landlord’s (council’s) fault? I am only guessing that the cold feed to the hot water tank was shut off, but this would account for the tank ‘exploding’ or bursting as it heated up and the pressure couldn’t be released.
If so, then my instinct is that it is the occupant or tenant that is responsible for safely operating the system.
Thing is that we seem to be invoking the ”blame culture” here. Yes the death of this little one was tragic, but seeming to immediatly look for someone to blame won’t solve anything for the parents.

Instead of just circumcising them – why not cut the entire thing off??? Not only would you stop AIDS transmission at a stroke (as it were), but you’d also solve the population explosion as well.
It is very sad when something like this happens, but I really can’t sympathise with the ”let’s create tolerance zones’ for prostitutes. This, in my opinion, is just a cop out for lack of enforcement. After all if you accept the principle for prostitution, why draw the line there?
You could set up ‘tolerance zones’ for all sorts of things that society or ‘ordinary people’ find offensive. Drug dealing, fencing stolen property, fist fights, even killings.
It is not illegal to sell sex in Britain. However, the laws that exist make it almost impossible to do so legally.
Disorderly Houses Act 1751 – this piece of legislation criminalises brothels, sex parties, etc. Off street work is much safer than street work, but escort agencies, massage parlours and saunas are criminalised by aspects of this legislation, making them areas that attract organised crime.
Vagrancy Act 1824 – makes it an offence for a “common prostitute” to “wander in a public street”.
Town Police Clause Act 1847 – one section of this act provides that, “it is an offence for any person keeping any house, shop, room or any place of public resort for the sale or consumption of refreshments of any kind, knowingly to suffer common prostitutes to assemble and continue there”.
Sexual offences Act 1956 – prohibits controlling prostitution and living off immoral earnings.
Street Offences Act 1959 – prohibits soliciting.
The Licensing Act 1964 – prohibits landlords/bar staff serving a “working prostitute”.
All these laws control and act to prohibit prostitutes from plying their trade, but none of them prohibit the actual act of indulging in paid for sex.
Interesting conundrum huh?
