    GET IN THERE ANITA YOU FECKIN SUPERSTAR!!!!!

    I got up to the blue screen bit and i was asked if i wanted my registry cleaning, i said yes like i was instucted to and a message came up saying “Cannot import cleanup.reg: Error accessing the registry, so I stopped at that point, and i havent ‘replaced the infected file’.
    However, i restarted my PC and the trojan has gone and i have my PC back! I have lost my screensaver, but that can be easily sorted and i have tried to reinstall google toolbar, but for some reason, i cant get that back up. But i dont really care, cos i know the virus has gone! FFS ive never had anything that bad on my comp before! I sh it meself!

    Anita!!!!! This looks very very promising! That link shows exactly how my pc is running at the moment.
    However, there is one more niggling thing………..
    I go into safemode, and when click on smartfix it asked me how i want to open the file!!!! I tried to open the file with windows explorer but thats no good, any ideas?????

    I reckon i can sort it, if i get past this little prob! cheers mate ur a legend :D

    Thanks Bat. I thought about wiping everything from my hard drive, but I’m leaving that as a very very very last resort. Surely theres a way to get rid of this thing and Im confident of doing it, in time…… :evil:

    Bat, I installed AVG, ran a scan and it scanned about 60,000 files or so and it found NOTHING wrong with my PC. So ive uninstalled that, it was poo, but thanks hun anyway. :lol:

    Infection Length : 138,293 bytes

    Systems not affected : DOS, EPOC, Linux, Macintosh, Novell Netwave, OS/2, UNIX.
    Technical Details : 1. Creates files in %windir%directory. By default, this is C:Windows.
    2. Adds values to the registry keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MNACHINESoftware Microsoft Windows Current Version Run.
    3. Scans the hard drive for .exe files and infects any executable files. Searches for passwords/information, which it may send to a remote attacker.

    Recommendations : Click “OK” to download officially approved security software. Always keep your patch up-to-date.
