For there to be an appeal there has to be a significant reason of doubt to contradict the verdict – whether that is possible I don’t know and it will be interesting to see if the defence are able to find a case for that

I do agree with the point that the press these days have a huge influence in peoples views of what could happen in various cases, for example the Jo Yeates case and the vilification of the landlord

I find it funny that I have been accused of being stupid (maybe), immature (lol now mid 50’s so I doubt that), having strange sexual habits (being married), being swingers (being happily married for more than 27 years that has never happened), and now being called a ba stard (maybe).

But what the people who try to put me down have actually missed is that all I have done on the boards is reply to the threads and given perhaps a different view, but not once have I put anyone down – need I say anymore?

my most treasured Christmas card was the one I was never destined to receive

sadly my Mother fell over in Spring 2002 and broke her hip – it took nearly two weeks before it was discovered that she had

For the next 8/9 months we visited her every day in hospital apart from the times that a social worker deemed it possible she could cope for herself – imagine having to carry a meal from a microwave to a table while you need to support yourself by both hands to just be able to stand up

my mother was a teacher who commanded a class of 30 children but ended up as just a person in a hospital bed though she managed to retain her dignity throughout it all

So for me the card I never received in 2002 is the most poignant one to me

now we live in France the way Christmas is celebrated is different

but saying that we have always celebrated it the same way we always did in the UK – and although our kids both have French partners who are used to celebrating it the French way they also both want to spend Christmas day in the traditional way with us

For our family the 25th of December is something very special
