The white guy got a £500 fine and a ban, the asian got £200 fine and 6 points. On the SAME day by the SAME judge……so sorry to get high rate but to me that was about colour against the white man!Erm no, cos financial penalties are means tested, the white guy obviously has more disposable income than the asian guy (or was stupid enough to admit to it on his court form). Maybe the asian guy needs the car for his job and the white guy didn’t. Maybe the asian guy was a first time offender and maybe the white guy had previous points on his licence. Maybe the asian guy was represented in court by an effective solicitor and the white guy wasn’t. Could be any number of things that made the magistrates impose these punishments – the least likely of which would be racial discrimination. It is highly unlikely that these two guys had the exact same set of personal circumstances that would merit the exact same punishment. So gather your facts together before you start pandering to the JC racists, please. Oh and consider reading a decent newspaper if your local paper can’t employ proper journalists.

I don’t think China will be getting involved. India is more of an influence – the opposition parties and the maoists met recently in India to have a wee natter about what to do when (if) the King decided to allow a government to form. Truth it there is nothing there for other countries to fight over.
