Where I come from, ‘footy’ is not officially recognized. If it’s not referred to as ‘Football’ ‘The game’ or ‘The match’ then you’re talking about something else entirely.

I’d reccomend it Matty, he does go on a bit at times but he does come across as a genuine guy who admits to making genuine mistakes. How often do we get to hear referees talking about the FA or the big teams? Good from that point of view.
