There was a wee man
Who peed in a pan
The pan was too wee
So he peed in the sea
The sea was too wide
So he peed in the Clyde
And all the wee fishes
Swam up his backsideI call it – remembrance from a childhood
9 February, 2008 at 10:40 pm #310943The post isn’t about whether or not the legal guardian would or would not let her go on her own.
9 February, 2008 at 10:29 pm #310940But that kind of dances round the point, does it not? The point I was making was that yes, the post is about a teenage girl who feels intimidated by people who – as far as we know – have made no actual threat but could pose a threat to her safety (hence, presumably, why she feels intimidated) Just in the same way as nobody actually poses a threat to my safety, but if they felt like it there’s not much I could do either.
9 February, 2008 at 10:17 pm #310938‘Stupid jock’ is one I wouldn’t mind, but I’m tee total and proud of it
I know it’s different things but it is still pretty much the same basic principle. If a gang attacked me, would I be in any better position to fight them off than a teenage girl? I may be less vulnerable in many ways, but I’d still be an easy target. As would most of us.
9 February, 2008 at 10:04 pm #310936the post referred to a young teenage girl not an alcoholic jock
Who’s the alcoholic jock? Or are you just slinging insults round cos you’ve nobody else to play with tonight?

To be honest, if the worst that happens to me is a 12 year old showing off to his mates by telling me to f**k off or some wee druggie asking me for a light/bus fare (Why is it always bus fare? They live in the town ffs!) I can handle that. The rest, the ones with the big reputations, as I said have bigger concerns.

Love or hate Scottish football, nobody can deny that the Old Firm game has global appeal. Doubtless you’ll try though.
i dont have to try both clubs finances are accrued from religous bigotry
In other words, you can’t deny it so you’re finding another reason to have a dig?
9 February, 2008 at 9:11 pm #310926Emma, I see your point and agree to an extent. Intimidation is a problem and I’d like to see something done about it. It’s not fair that honest law abiding citizens should be afraid or intimidated. Going back to the topic of the post though, what can the government do about that, lock up anyone who intimidates anyone else?
From what I understand from the original post, whoever she feels scared by hasn’t given her any other reason to fear them other than ‘it’s a bit scary’
There’s people in this town I hate walking past cos I know they have a reputation, but that’s not reason enough for them to be locked up. If I were to be attacked, that’s different but until then I do my best to avoid them. They don’t bother me if our paths cross though, never have done (apart from one occasion where I was asked by someone ‘Got a light for my cigarette mate?’)but they have a reputation that suggests they could.
