The fact that my scale and polish wasn’t as bad as I expected.
I’m one of these folk terrified by the dentists so haven’t been in…let’s just say ‘a while’!
2 September, 2007 at 4:40 pm #121132The fact that Celtic racked up another impressive win but are still playing catch up to the Gers who are playing some rotten football and getting results!
1 September, 2007 at 12:10 pm #285123Melech, I think these people are paid to be awkward. Slightly different set of circumstances, but here’s my experience:
I phoned one of these Sky TV auction channels to place a bid, which was accepted. Half an hour, they phoned me back.
‘Can I have your name?’ he asked. Now, I don’t wish to sound bigoted, but personally I’d rather speak to somebody I can understand and who can understand me. Hope I’m not alone in this.
‘I actually intended to input my account number and must have pressed the wrong number. Can I just give you that number? Only it’s getting late and it’d be quicker and more convenient for me’ I replied.
‘Can I have your name?’
‘I have an account number I can give you’
‘Can I have your name?’ and so it went on.Eventually, he relented and accepted my account number and all was well. Until, and again I don’t wish to sound bigoted, he closed the conversation with super speed indian accent talking which I didn’t understand and got the impression that I never would no matter how many times I asked him to repeat. All I know is that he asked me to confirm something so after a quick ‘Yeah, that’s fine’ I was off to bed!
Now I just do it all online!
31 August, 2007 at 10:13 pm #285584So we’re officially celebrating incredible levels of stupidity. Did anyone understand a word of the interview? Pete made more sense last year.
31 August, 2007 at 8:56 pm #285583Did anyone else hear Charlie call Chanelle ‘bitch’ seconds after she sat back down?
31 August, 2007 at 8:53 pm #285608I wasn’t gonna watch the funeral but then my aunt and uncle turned up unexpectedly so I had to or I’d never have heard the end of it.
ItsAndy – I heard that one a lot at school, along with ‘Dodi died and Di Died – try saying that ten times quickly’ The jokes were soon to follow ‘What have Diana and Glasgow Rangers got in common? Both crashed out in Europe’ Suddenly, I didn’t feel quite as insensitive for being angry at missing Saved By The Bell.
31 August, 2007 at 1:35 pm #285574Chris Eubank and your third suggestion (I’ve attended diversity awareness training – apparently it’s immoral to even think the word) have been on before.
31 August, 2007 at 1:33 pm #285604My first reaction when I switched the TV on that morning was ‘What the f**k is this? Saved By The Bell should be on by now….and it’s on every channel’ as I had just woken up and wasn’t paying any attention to what it actually was.
I’ll admit, at the time, I failed to see why it was such a big deal. I was 15 or so and didn’t think anyone really cared much about the royal family so I didn’t quite understand why there was this outpouring of emotion. Didn’t take me long to realize though.

1. TwinsDid anyone watch 8 out of 10 cats BB special? It’s a shame the way they ripped into Brian but then he is incredibly thick so who hasn’t? I loved it when he said he wrote to the universe even though he doesn’t know what the universe is!
30 August, 2007 at 5:54 pm #285402I reckon Donetsk are going to be the only real stumbling block for Celtic too, there were actually a lot of decent teams in pot four so in a weird way I’m glad Rangers were in there and avoided them!
