That’s something I don’t really get, the whole concept of wanting to know where your kids are at all times but then I’m not a parent. What I do know is that as a child I did whatever the hell I wanted wherever the hell I wanted. When I say child, I mean child. Not 11, 12 or 13. That’s not a criticism of my parents, that’s a reflection of what I was like. They were damned if they did and damned if they didn’t. The more they pulled towards one direction, the further I’d run in the other. I had my ‘teenage rebellion’ ten years before everyone else. After that I just wasn’t interested.
I love my family but I valued my freedom more, especially at that age and it hasn’t done me any harm. I don’t do drugs, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink, I don’t stand on street corners shouting abuse at people for fun – never have done.
But then, times have changed so I can see your point.
