Um! I think i get what you mean….. they aren’t bothered but they say something (which of course means they aren’t bothered) But it rattles others cages and of course…makes them look bothered – but they are not.
Exactly, and that’s what this thread’s starting to look like. Some folk claim to be bored by the saga but drag it up from time to time (naming no names) Just yesterday I was asked ‘Is the romance back on?’ completely out of the blue by one of those who claimed that I had the obsession and that everyone else was bored.
I don’t follow the logic there.
16 May, 2008 at 4:54 pm #335806Fair enough, Rainny. But I was talking about those who claim not to be bothered and as such claim that everyone else is bothered. Because they don’t care. How does that work?
16 May, 2008 at 4:47 pm #335799I think they only make an appearance when it suits. It’s funny, I was called ‘gullible’ etc by almost everyone (who insisted they knew me better than I knew myself) when we had the ‘Kategate’ scandal yet it seems that it’s other users that are still obsessed and can’t let it go.
This is another of those ‘you’re boring us all now, I’m not even bothered but I quite clearly am’ threads.

Always in the mood for Nirvana, but I love the Amy Lee acoustic version of Heart Shaped Box:

And I can’t post without the classic:

It’s a social problem though, remember the fans who caused the first flare up were the ones who didn’t have tickets and for all we know they might even be banned from going to Rangers games. From that perspective, it’s difficult to control – they can ban people but they can’t stop them travelling.
Unless they learn to be responsible, I don’t see how the club can do any more than what they’re trying to do at the moment. True point about international level and that’s something I just don’t get.
All I can say is remember Real Football Factories, all are as bad as each other, and the few ruin it for the majority.
Yep, could’ve happened to any team (I’m assuming that’s what you mean) so I don’t get why it’s being spoken about as if it only happened just cos it’s Rangers and their fans have a reputation for being neanderthals. True to an extent, but harsh in another.
Anyway, I hope those who have been charged learn a hard lesson from this but somehow I doubt it.

15 May, 2008 at 10:21 pm #317783True, but there’s always an official & an unofficial line to these things. They’re hardly going to come out and say ‘We don’t want the hooligan elements of Rangers & Chelsea meeting up and running riot in packs’ but that surely must have came into the thinking pattern at some point.
First thing that came to my mind when I saw it on Sky Sports News.
15 May, 2008 at 10:09 pm #317780Must be this summer weather – it always has an affect on me.
15 May, 2008 at 10:03 pm #317778I may be guilty of having blue tinted glasses from time to time and I do get a bit p***sed off when people tarnish not just every fan but the entire country by certain events but there’s no way that can be condoned. I read that about the big screens next week as well, maybe they’re concerned about the links between Rangers & Chelsea or maybe they’ve just decided ‘never again’ and who could blame them? In any case it’s not just their own club and supporters that have a right to be dissapointed.
But I am still curious about the stabbing incident, Russian football violence is at the extreme end of the spectrum so it’s a bit naive to suggest that it couldn’t have been a rival fan but going by the footage we’ve all witnessed, it would also be naive to suggest that it definetely wasn’t a Rangers ‘fan’ Just to clarify – I am not dismissing it but I think judgement should be reserved until if and when the facts come out.
Either way, the wrong folk are going to be the ones painted in a bad light.
