You must’ve actually fallen asleep cos they did have a few chances to win the game in normal time late on. I take it that does meet your standards of ‘sometimes’ or does it not count cos you never saw them?
2 May, 2008 at 8:20 pm #331901Nobody rattled my cage, where’d you get that idea? Wait a minute – (look, a wee laughing face to show you that I’m not furious as you so want to believe)
2 May, 2008 at 8:03 pm #317722Rangers did attack ‘sometimes’ Next you’ll be telling me how you define the word ‘sometimes’ and telling me how it doesn’t apply to Rangers.
2 May, 2008 at 7:36 pm #317720Didn’t exactly play attractive, attacking football for 90 minutes though. And I don’t recall stating that Scotland were trying for a 0-0. I was pointing out that Scotland, like Rangers, did what they had to do and rode their luck at times.
Interesting to see the Fiorentina manager slamming Rangers for their tactics, as Messi did. It must have been Rangers’ fault that they didn’t score with any of the chances they created. And they probably made Vieri miss that penalty as well, how unsporting of them
2 May, 2008 at 6:39 pm #317718People already generally have a poor opinion of scottish football, if one of their teams reaching a European final by grafting & grinding out results by doing what they have to do makes the reputation even worse then I’d be surprised. And some just won’t be swayed regardless.
When we beat France, who were the better team? Who gave a shiny shyte? Just cos it’s Rangers doesn’t mean the principles have changed.
2 May, 2008 at 5:46 pm #317715Every team sets out with a different strategy. That’s like saying anyone who watches Man United when they’re playing their very best football assumes that every team in England play that way. And we all know that’s not the case. Anyway, how many teams in Scotland are an advert for attractive football?
A neutral who knows nothing about football would look at Liverpool and what they’ve achieved in Europe and think they must dominate their domestic league. I don’t see how your arguement stands up.
1 May, 2008 at 10:01 pm #317712Should be a good one – meeting up with Ricksen and Advocaat again. I thought Fiorentina were unlucky, they had some good chances but Alexander didn’t actually have that much to do. Was stunned when Vieri missed from the spot, bet Ferguson’s a relieved man
Though the ref made some bad calls in the game. How come, if Mutu went down looking for a penalty and had a free kick given against him, Mutu wasn’t booked? How come a free kick was given against Novo in the dying seconds? There were a few others I couldn’t fathom, but Cousin deserved to walk. The guy made the most of it but it was still stupid on his part regardless.
I think they’ve every chance in the final, many times this season we’ve been outplayed by the better side but scraped a win.
1 May, 2008 at 9:33 pm #317710I haven’t!!! Don’t know how the hell the Gers got that one but right now I couldn’t care less. Say what you want about boring football, negative tactics – doesn’t matter a jot now cos it’s been effective and that’s all that matters.
:D :D
28 April, 2008 at 8:49 pm #326618Wishing that I hadn’t agreed to work Friday & Saturday night – I was asked but realistically I couldn’t very well say no, wouldn’t look good at my next appraisal. Yesterday was my only day off (which I had without much sleep because of a sore throat) and now I’m on for six dayshifts and I’m shattered after day one because I was coughing most of last night!!

Read the original post. If she had gone against regulations, she would’ve probably been sacked or at the least suspended. So not only are you expecting her to lose her job, her career for disobeying orders, you also expect that she should risk her life. Its not in the job description im afraid. The regulations are in place for a very good reason. They have rights to safety as anyone does at work. What about her life, and her family? Dont be fooled into thinking this sort of situation is a one off. They face violence frequently, as do fire fighters. Maybe its time they were trained in self defence and properly equipped with the same weapons the police carry.
Where did I say I ‘expect’ her to do anything?
