Boxing probably would have been a better example, as the coach and the boxer interact more directly during the match than in tennis.

No, the horse and rider work as a team.

Drac… It isn’t easy for some not to care what others think, especially when its your peers that you are surrounded with. The whole point about bullying is that the bullies prey on those they perceive as weaker and when it is persistent it can be very difficult to ignore.

I don’t see how you can come to this conclusion. He wouldn’t have commited suicide at that exact time, sure. But he may have at a later date due to exam pressure, or any other number of reasons. Or he may never have done as you suggested. It’s impossible to predict what would happen if there were undelying mental health issues.

If you apply this logic to tennis then it would seems that the coach should be given awards, not the player?

The issues are beyond just what people said to him, the documentary explains it, it was physical too, but you will have a random explanation for that too… To be honest, at the end of the day, no bully = no death, no matter what you say… If that kid was left alone to live his life he would be alive today no matter what way you like to twist…[Read more]

No, the horse responds to specific aids given by the rider, it responds to shifts of weight and physical touches, although I concede it is possible to train them to perform riderless. Still requires skill from the trainer.

Yeah, but a horse could potentially perform all the tasks required of it without having a rider at all (at the time of the event, obviously it has to be trained still).

Wearing a hijab would limit your hearing and peripheral vision anyone who wears one would be handicaping themselves compared to other competitors.
Are you trying to claim that it doesn’t effect performance?
Proposing is a sign of male dominance?
What?

Sorry to interrupt but can I just point out that the horse doesn’t do all the work. There is a lot of skill and training involved on the riders part. The horse “performs” if you like but it requires years of training and dedication.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying. It is not a normal behaviour.

Gymnastics definitely requires an abnormal level of physical ability and skill, as does ice dancing.
I wouldn’t really call them sports though, as the winner is determine by a process that is too subjective for my liking (maybe competative art would be a better term, I don’t know).

So let assume that men’s tenis generates more revenue from advertising because more people watch it. To pay men and women the same you either have to pay women more than they earn, which wouldn’t happen because it’s operating at a loss. Or you pay the men less, where would you suggest the leftover money goes?
