Mary,
That was absolutely lovely, and really appreciated by us all. I’ve managed the stiff British upper lip until that post, but its made me cry. The messages and support we have had from everybody on this site has been fantastic. Thank you to everyone who posted messages, we have printed them off and put them in his memory box, and they are helping a great deal. The funeral (despite the weather and the traffic) went really really well and was standing room only at the service. People from as far as Cornwall travelled up.
Just wanted to say thank you to all that came from this site, including the lady who travelled by coach to get here. It was really touching. I’m sorry I didn’t get round to seeing you all, but my Dad, Brother (both called Jim lol) and Grandma June, appreciated it, and helped to make a tough day easier.
He had fought prostate cancer, and the donation boxes for MacMillan and Marie Curie were full so were are pleased something positive has happened from a sad time. He would have been absolutely over the moon by all of the support and kind words, and please don’t underestimate how grateful we are for all your support. This is a lovely site.
I hope you all had a lovely Valentines day.
Warm Wishes
