Did anyone watch Tribal Wives on tv a while ago? Where a recovering alcholic Scottish woman went to live with an Ethiopian tribe for a while. She was shocked to tears (daily) at the way they lived… the way the women were treated by the men… the daily workloads they had to put up with… the fact there was NEVER any romance in their relationships etc etc? But the one thing she had the MOST trouble coming to terms with was just how HAPPY and content they all were.
If you were to offer just a few of them a new life in our “civilised” society they would probably turn round and tell you to shove it!

I didn’t see that one, but I saw another one in Ecuador. And yes, it is a supreme arrogance to just assume that another culture would want to swap theirs for ours.

Age is just a number. I don’t like the getting older bit though, I suppose the knack is to grow old gracefully.

Who would resort to the knife to try and wind back time?

is that you being a “barbed sarcastic” or are you really considering it?

If so then good luck, nothing better than direct action, thats the best charity in my book.

Seriously considering it. They need volunteers in Tanzania, Uganda, Cambodia, Thailand etc. etc.

Perhaps if these African Governments put use to the borrowed money instead of fighting each other then the ‘democracies’ (loosely termed) would be a little more forgiving?

Generalisation? Yep damn sure it is… because most famine and hardship has been caused by wars of varying degrees.

I can feel a song coming on.

*hums a well known beatles song*

No mims I actually see it all as irony, nothing will ever change, no matter how much it is debated, argued, money thrown at it… it won’t chnage.

I have a feeling you may be right. Sadly.
