If you believe that the first element had to be created, then I think it follows on that you also have to believe that the entity who created the element had to be created. It’s the old chicken and egg thing again, but I still think it’s an important point.
A lot of people would also say that DNA is just the result of natural selection acting upon random mutations, and that no intellegence is therefore required for it.

Either the universe and all it contains happened through chance, or it was by design. My feeling is that it was by chance, and alterations in DNA resulting in evolution of species is also accidental.

And that was my point really… stupid as it sounded…. that IF the universe and ultimately the earth and all life on it was “created”, then it can only exist because of a paradox or a whole basket of paradoxes. And…. there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in Gazlan’s philosophy :wink:

I didn’t miss yours, i answered it……. evolution caused humans to evolve into superbeings with the power to create universes. Ergo… humans became god and created the universe!

Its a paradox you see…… but i guess you have to be able to forget about time being linear….. and look at the bigger picture, which is that if there is a god, then that god would certainly not be restricted by time or place, but would be able to be everywhere and everywhen. If humans evolve until they are god…. then they could create the universe!!

Musical taste is purely personal, and generally speaking if people like music, they are offended when other people say that their taste in music is c rap.

Therefore, I would at no time criticise someone else’s choice of music. All music is valid, even the music we don’t personally like. As long as someone is making it, and someone is listening to it, it is serving a purpose.

OK…… you missed my point earlier…. to put it simply, humans evolve.. become super beings, have the ability to create universes and to transcend time. humans + evolution + large doses of imagination and speculation = god
