Friends.. well one in particular!!!!
:) i do love some people
I have a front doorway only a midget can get in without requiring traction. I don’t order anything that I know that I cannot lift myself, without help. In fact, I rarely get anything delivered to my door. In fact.. I have put off ordering a dishwasher for nine months now because i am terrified by what will happen when it turns up!
the only reason i am posting this is to do a DOA :) and now i will stop as to run amok on a message board is just not cool!!!!!
saw simply red at the hammersmith palais before they had their first number 1. Actually, reckon i saw a few before they were famous, but they were so unknown i had forgotten their names, so can’t really say I saw them!!!!
went to a few venues that were hit and happening at the time though….and the bands? some good, some bad and some just plain ugly!
What I love is that those times gave me a real desire to hear live music, and to this day without music my life would be so much the poorer. It is odd what gets my juices flowing…..but these days, lyrics are much more important to me than they used to be. I remember the days when a good pulsing bass rhythm was all that was needed!!!! :wink:

get the measurements, cut a bit of paper to scale the right size. Go to a carpet place and look at off cuts. Get one that will just about fit with a bit over. Then find someone out the local paper who will fit it for you on the cheap. I have fitted carpets myself, but not one for a room the size you mention cath. I did carpet a bathroom once!!! I made a template and cut it all out (roughly) and then just made it fit properly when it was in place. I almost got it right, but ended up with a bit too short round the bog! It was ok though.

Takes me back a bit …… saw some sh!t kicking bands back then. Saw a few fairly middle of the road stuff, new romantics, and bands where you were lucky if you came out of there without gob in your hair – and that was courtesy of the band members! Nice!

Are we going to list horrors? Or are we going to put together a petition? 18 months is appalling but we all know that people get a slapped wrist and told not to do it again, when their actions put the victim in counselling for life!
There are horrors too many to mention that parade across our screens…I want to make sure that the government and the law does something. I have been looking at a site which allows for petitions to be created which allow for online signing. Once I figure out the best way to do it I will let you know. But we have to have some ideas on what we want to say to get people to sign.. and i don’t mean along the lines of…Life should mean Life and Bring Back the Death Penalty. These kinds of petitions have been made to the government all the time. We need to find a way to be different… to pack a punch. We should be looking at getting millions of signatures and not settle for thousands but we get a finite amount of time, and from what i can make out once you hit 500, you get a response from government.
Here is the first part of the instructions:
You will be asked to give your name, organisation (if you represent one), address and email address, and the title and text of your petition. You will also be asked to give a short, one-word name for your petition. This will be used to give your petition a unique URL (website address) that you can use to publicise your petition.
You will be able to specify a start and finish date for your petition, and we can host your petition for up to 12 months.
We can get everyone we know to link to the petition to e-sign it and also publicise on social networking sites like facebook as well as here and amongst friends.
But.. we have to make it a good one…. it has to be different and we need a name that people will remember that hasn’t been used before!
Get your thinking caps on everyone. My feeling is we will get one shot at this.
Some deaths are, and we all hope that our deaths are peaceful and a gentle change of state, but realistically a lot of deaths are not.
