12 October, 2009 at 7:26 pm #419240What do they say? “Be Careful What You Wish For”…..it may come true!
I remember an X-Files episode where someone wished for world peace.
From that moment, there was not a single sound anywhere.
All the people disappeared, all the machines stopped working.
No music, no talking, no sounds at all…just complete silence. They were on their own, in complete silence in an empty world.

A song my daughter wrote, composed and performed. Unfortunately it’s nowhere on the web to be able to post a link, it has a haunting tune :?
An open heart
In which desire burns
Wide eyed worship of the love you yearn
15 minutes until the glory of fame
15 minutes to run from the pain
Hold your brother with exaggerated trust
Seduce your lover with a glorified lust
You have to reach
To raise the stars
Move your face
And hide those scars
It’s great relief
Confessions so pure
Pure as the powder
You need it to cure
Whisers of fate
Breathing down your neck
Is it the darkenss
That you forgetWhat a life to live
What a world to see
So much more you’ll find
So much more in meThey want you
To touch you
To taste you
To free you
My heart aches
My head spins
What’s real
I’m dreaming
Tearing my
Soul in two
To taste you
To feel you
Tears falling
Skin crawling
I want you
I need youWhat a life to live
What a world to see
So much more you’ll find
So much more in mebeautiful susie :) if you have it in an MP3 file.. you could post in in youtube yourself. :)

My skin is like a map, of where my heart has been
And I can’t hide the marks, but it’s not a negative thing
So I let down my guard, drop my defences, down by my clothes
I’m learning to fall, with no safety net, to cushion the blowI bruise easily, so be gentle when you handle me
There’s a mark you leave, like a love heart, carved on a tree
I bruise easily, can’t scratch the surface without moving me
Underneath I bruise easily, I bruise easilyI found your finger prints on a glass of wine
Do you know your leaving them all over this heart of mine too
If I never take this leap of faith I’ll never know
So I’m learning to fall with no safety net to cushion the blowI bruise easily, so be gentle when you handle me
There’s a mark you leave, like a love heart carved on a tree
I bruise easily, can’t scratch the surface without moving me
Underneath I bruise easily, I bruise easilyAnyone who, can touch you, can hurt you, or heal you
Anyone who, can reach you, can love you, or leave youSo be gentle
So be gentle
So be gentle
So be gentleI bruise easily, so be gentle when you handle me
There’s a mark you leave, like a love heart, carved on a tree
I bruise easily, can’t scratch the surface without moving me
Underneath I bruise easily, I bruise easilyI bruise easily, so be gentle when you handle me
There’s a mark you leave, like a love heart, carved on a tree
I bruise easily, can’t scratch the surface without moving me
Underneath I bruise easily, I bruise easilyI bruise easily
I bruise easilyI love that song so much. Thanks for posting :)
12 October, 2009 at 7:19 pm #418741So, having sold off our gold reserves for a fraction of their worth, Gordon Brown is set to sell off our libraries, our railways, our power supplies and our betting shops.
I think we should perhaps join him, and have garage sales, and car boot sales, and do sponsored cake bakes in order to help bring down our countries collosal debts.
Failing that… lets just blow up parliament.
12 October, 2009 at 7:12 pm #419102If you expect me to feel sorry for her.. you are going to be seriously disappointed!
She was probably promoted to her level of incompetence. That is perhaps a reflection of our society, because it seems to happen in every walk of life. She was paid a vast salary to do a very very important job. Her department failed. Someone has to take responsibility.
There were lots of people who were guilty of missing opportunities to save Baby P. There are probably scores of other children suffering now as a direct result of missed opportunities. If you do not make an example of someone, but allow people to simply “get away” with things……. the other people, in other areas of this country, doing the same job, will not take a long close look at THEIR OWN working practices, and tighten up their ships. The fear of losing their own jobs in similar circumstances will be exceptional encouragement for them all to make sure their departments DO NOT make the same mistakes. The end result of that will be that small children are not left to the mercy of torturing bullies.
11 October, 2009 at 6:37 pm #419236Plus.. wrong is subjective… what one lot of people think is wrong, another lot might think is perfectly fine.
11 October, 2009 at 6:18 pm #419098Perhaps they should all be removed from their positions, placed with other better run departments and made to go back to school.
There are bound to be many culpable people when a department is so badly run. But, management is top down. If the person at the top is ok, the people beneath them change their working practices until things end up being better. Of course, I am generalising… but
if she had been excellent at her job, then even if the others were rubbish, there would have been sufficient evidence that she had tried to change things …. and she would not have been in this situation.11 October, 2009 at 6:12 pm #418738@forumhostpb wrote:
On that basis we should have the Monster Raving Loony party as our next government.
Exhume ‘screaming Lord Sutch’ I say and let him run the country.
I thought that the current govrnement was a monster and raving and filled with loonies!
As for Lord Stuch, he was ahead of his time.
