right..now down to the nitty gritty…
which do you prefer, Tarot, I Ching, or…??? all suggestions welcome.
The tarot scares me. Have had several packs, inlcludng a creepy medieval one, but had to give them up as they were forecasting freakouts – like the woman in the Joni Mitchell song, Roses Blue, quoted above –
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOqDabQGfGc
I once went to a guy in Hendon who was startlingly accurate, but generally I keep away from them. Apart from the freakouts, they are fatalistic – you tend to just be passive in the face of the future and I don’t think that’s a good idea.
I prefer the I Ching. Apart from often being startlingly accurate, I use them in a particular way. I use them when I have a genuine dielemma, and I use them not to predict the future but to sort out the choices facing me – I find they clarify a mind which can get jumbled when faced with dilemmas – I don’t let them decide what to do, consciously fight against that. But they clarify a situation, allow me to walk it off and work out what I think is the best way forward. I stlll make mistakes, but the Ching is great because of that quality.
Take care to avoid their predictive power, though.
I’m just joking about all this of course folks, hey what do you think I am, someone from the Dark Ages of witches and hobgoblins?? haha lololol as danny would say when he’s not expressing his opinion on how to hurt peeps poorer than he is, but
anyone got any good alternatives???
Oh F*** Scep me old mate.
I’ll read that again when I am sober cos it’s making my head spin.
Happy Saturday.

Hello everyone.
Day in day out we read or here about the late Jimmy Savile. I did ask myself, What good will all this do bringing it up now, Jimmy Savile cannot be brought to justice, Do the victims have to chat to someone from the authorities about their horrid ordeal. ( i know it is something that people will not forget ).
I saw on the news this morning ( that someone had mentioned ) that these victims of the late Jimmy Savile maybe able to move on once they have come forward and able to discuss what happend to them but clearly will never forget.
If i had that experience, im not sure what i would do,,,i honestly dont,,,Would it help you move on??
In any event, im getting a bit fed up of hearing about it on a daily basis because it makes me think about what goes through someones mind to do that to children. teenagers etc.
ffs.. this is a wind up eh? surely ! echoes of a certain someone getting their post count up !
Oooo Ruby!
So young and so cynical.

I know times are hard for many of us but…
I’ve just had a grandmother and her 2 grandchildren in the shop playing a game “what would we buy if we could afford it”. Apparently they’re going into all their favourite shops playing this and the grandmother explained that both her son and daughter in law are out of work at the moment and it’s all they can do to keep the roof over their heads and food on the table.
Seeing the faces of the 2 little girls as they left, I had to wonder…was this game fun or cruel?
And no, before anyone asks, they didn’t steal anything.
or was it supposed to play on your emotions and you were supposed to say……” here, have this”…..?
actually, that was My First thoughs too ! We have all felt skint times ( surely) the times I made my own Christmas Decorations when My son was small. anything else was a bonus !
ruby i’ve been there too making paper chains and snowflakes for hours on end with my children………..you know what?…..those lean times i have fond memories of………and life was a lot simpler then
I remember it well tinks.. was a bad winter and this was in the days of the 50p meters. I boughts a disney book from bargain books and the joy we had glueing things. and the feeling of acviement having snow white with glitter on top of a plastic tree :) I had always worked, and was put on the “sick” while pregnant. My doctor almost invited me to say i was ok.. and my money was cut in half back then. I never realisd the difference. ! He never suffered and this was back in the day near 30 years ago when we never had central heating or double glazing. My life was keeping him cosy. and i did and can make a mean pot of soup ever since :) I still do it.. keep in pulses and beans ( just in case) ..I feel almost guilt at the heat to whit my daughter was brought up in :)
you are right.. taught me a form of humbleness that i needed x
Scots rarely need to be taught humbleness. It is breed with the culture. The dichotomy of extreme pride and humbleness at once.
The ying and the yang.
Sometimes in my darkest hours I think we are people apart and I live in an alien land.

Well, the ex ex has now finally left after 9.5 years.
The ex – it was easy to get rid of him as he didn’t live here.
So, finally, I’m youngish, free and single.
And I fully intend to stay that way for a long, long time.
The ex ex was bad but not as bad as the ex who was a nasty control freak. I’m well shot of him.
No great wisdom to offer – just my thoughts.

You do realize Muslims aren’t a race?
Your whole unnecessary essay that I barely even skim read is void.
Oh dear Tom.
I do realise that Muslims aren’t a race, as you would realise if you did more than “skim read” my recent posts.
You got that picture of yours from a pretty hateful website called “Islamic Britain”. That is the link to Muslims. And in your previous post you used the terms foreigner and black/asian as if they were interchangeable.
Of course you are under no obligation to waste any of your valuable time reading my stuff at all. It is up to you, but it is always useful to do a bit more than “skim read” if you intend to directly criticise or comment on what I have written.
26 October, 2012 at 4:40 pm #472713I shouldn’t have made that last post. It was just too cheesy.
I feel as if I have let myself down now.
